The medical facility Tanks was referring to most likely has Sub-transmission voltage fed by the local utility to a campus sub station. This would be the normal feed to power the entire campus.

Emergency generators are not allowed to back feed the utilities circuit. They are separated from the utilities circuits.

The only Synchronization required would be between two different generators. Or the generator and the power companies circuit. Which the power company would never allow.

Syncing is necessary when electric utilities need more than one generator to feed a circuit or high load area. And two or three 100kw -2000KW generators are needed to be put in parallel. A device that allows them to synchronize phasing is used.

Most hospital sized generators (as large as they are) can only feed emergency rooms or ICU’s not the entire campus.

Question for you, years ago I ran an oil refinery in Wyoming. Main power came in off the grid, but we had one diesel generator driven by an old submarine engine, and three big gas driven waukeshaws. When we would bring a waukeshaw online we had phase indicators and manually switched them into the main, which was basically the grid. Sometimes it took two or three attempts, I know bc I did it on one occasion. From what you are saying, it sounds like this wouldn’t be allowed these days?

Meanwhile, in Dillingham, Alaska, I now know our new prices.

Did it use the blinking lights as well to know if you’re in phase?

The three IC engines I was talking about are not emergency generators but provide power 24/7.

All I remember is the dial indicator. You’re taking me back 26 or 27 years.

I see Trump now wants to put his picture on a new $250 bill. Wasn't enough to paste his mug on all passports this year, have a big military parade on his birthday, add his name to the Kennedy Center, drape banners of himself on D.C. govt buildings, declare himself a candidate for Nobel Peace Prize when he was ineligible, threaten with tariffs when the Nobel Committee wouldn't go along with it anyway, creates his dud Board of Peace simply to make himself chairman for life, says he's going ahead with his fantastic Arch of Trump no matter if it's legal or not (forget that it's modeled after other arches commemorating imperial victories, while the 250th anniversary of Declaration of Independence marks a revolution AGAINST empire), building a grandiose ultra expensive oversize White House ballroom (no doubt plans on slapping his moniker on it too). Oh wait ... I almost forgot. He posts AI image of himself on his social media platform dressed in Jesus garb with people praying to him. And it wasn't enough to pardon the January 6th rioters, now he's going to pay them a bonus! How did his old pal Mitch McConnell react to that stunt: "Stupid with stilts!"

I mean how does Trump get his head through the door at the White House? It is sickening. The guy is in such a desperate hurry to leave some legacy ... any legacy. Just grabbing at anything he can. Yeah, he's leaving a legacy alright. Presidents of US are clowns. Dangerous clowns.

Glad to see the Supreme Court shot the appeal down for a time it seemed like the natives were going to be able to seize property , although I’m sure it’ll end up costing Canadians more in the end every time an indigenous group gets a feather out of joint it costs the Canadian tax payers millions.

As for Trump's legacy...I think it's saving America from being sold out via illegal immigration for the purposes of representation via the census and also illegal voting.

Overall I like Trump's approach to immigration better.

So I'd kind of like to see the Statue Of Liberty replaced with a statue of Trump. I've seen the perhaps unintended results of the phrase "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free". Great we got 'em.

I’m guessing that your generation was disconnected from the utility circuit first. Automatically or manually.

Sorry, I can’t speak to that. I’m not aware of any operation that runs that size a diesel that long. DG’s are very inefficient and expensive to run compared to a more typical steam driven turbine in power plants.

But.

Many businesses, Hospitals and utilities have “peakers” that take over or help during high demand periods. Those are either gas turbine, diesel or battery storage.

Yep, manual disconnect, then after restart, manual connect which is where the phase alignment came in.

As mentioned in my original post, they run on natural gas. In CA they are much cheaper to run than buying power from the power company.

In other news.

From the article, hope our military is taking note.
Estonia last month halted a $587 million contract with a Swedish-led consortium for armored infantry fighting vehicles and plans to instead reallocate that money to investments in drones and air defense, a move that Estonian officials said is in response to developments in the war in Ukraine.
In a military exercise last year, the volunteer defense league, joining with Ukrainian specialists, effectively destroyed a heavily armed NATO battle group with drones during one drill.

To belabor the point and beat a dead horse. Even Natural Gas powered generators are much more expensive to run than electricity produced by even California utilities.
There must be more to the story. The cost and 24/7 wear and tear alone would be crippling.

If you are booking international flights you may want to get up to speed on this. DHS may stop processing immigration at many of the main international hubs if the city doesn’t help enforce immigration.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
