The type of people that are provoking civil war in this country.

A person at the Denver airport hopped a fence, ran onto the runway and got splattered by an airliner.
They haven't been able to identify the person, because no doubt the flying body ended up being sucked into the engine which caused an engine fire.
Some seriously stupid people out there.

AOC is an idiot.. she says shit that is outright stupid and demonstrates he complete lack of knowledge on subjects she likes to talk about as a matter of routine..

George Washington was one of the wealthiest people in the British Empire at the time of the revolution.. adjusted for todays dollars Washington would have been worth roughly $708M..

Jefferson died deeply in debt.. but at the time of the revolution his net worth would have been roughly $285M (adjusted for todays dollars)..

Franklin would have been worth about $15M (adjusted)

Madison like Jefferson died a bit worse for wear.. but at the time of the revolultion was worth about $136M..

Monroe.. $40M

Adams $25M

Most of the founding fathers and signers of the declaration were at a minimum upper middle class.. many were extremely wealthy..

Most from the south were large scale land owners.. most from the north were extremely prominant merchants...

Even more relevant is... almost ALL colonials were on average wealthier and had higher per capita income than britons during the 1770's.. and that INCLUDES the slaves in those per capita averaging..

The only people in the empire that were as a rule richer than the colonial political leaders were the actual british aristocrats...
Yup. An interesting aside….the English colonists in the Caribbean were even richer. One of the factors that led to England eventually capitulating was a desire to focus on their Caribbean holdings, which made Britain a lot more cash than the 13 colonies. Some of the descendants of the Caribbean colonists are rich to this day. MP Richard Drax is a descendant of the family line that ran a sugar plantation in Barbados starting in the 17th century. The honorable MP owns it to this day….although predictably there are demands that he give it to the government of Barbados as a part of reparations. Anyway, the idea that the Revolution’s movers and shakers were simple salt of the earth types is naive.

OK...saw this and wondered what it was on about....after reading it I was impressed at how accurate it is....never thought about it before...but even where it says voice inflection makes a difference it's correct...so for you foreigners here is an amusing translation for you ..it had me saying the different scenarios out loud to myself just to check...:E Big Grin: :D Beers:

AOC citing the American Revolution and the founders were fighting against billionaires of the day. And today it’s the most American thing to do.

It’s actually the complete opposite. They were fighting the confiscation of production and wealth from a tyrannical government. (And of course other issues)

She thinks she is the modern version of the founders. Instead of sitting in the position of the tyrannical government confiscating wealth. But. Class warfare works. It works very well and always has. And always will.

You are right, every time I think about it, I end up at the reloading bench!

Interestingly, the founders, for the most part, were the billionaires of the day.
Exactly and they were fighting against the tyrannical government.

She, with her third rate education that her Democrat party has given us. Thinks she represents the poor founders that were fighting against the billionaires in England.

It would be hilarious if she wasn’t the future of the Democrat party and was not surely going to be elected to higher Office.

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
