Oil always spikes during these dust ups. Then oil prices collapse. Usually within 6 months due to a glut
This is a great point.

I have the truck backed up and the tailgate is down ready to pile into SCO just as soon as I'm having a good feeling that the situ is stable enough. Or... if we break $120/barrel, I'm buying regardless.

For those of you new to leveraged ETF's, it's not something to sit in longer than a few days or weeks. If the target investment isn't moving one way or the other, get out. Google leveraged decay otherwise known as beta-slippage.

Some will say options are cheaper but I like the liquidity.

And the Iran attack subject :

I am in the camp that believes Iran needed to be defanged sooner than later. I don’t care if they had nukes within a week or a year I’d rather do it before It was too late. Prior administrations worried more about their reelections than doing the right thing.

Now, with that said. Has anyone considered that when weighing all the options and building the pros and cons columns?

In the “pro” column of Trump‘s mind, he had to recognize that this Iranian expedition needed to happen and it would certainly impact the 2026 mid term elections.

Did Trump calculate that if the Republicans take a beating in the midterms and in 2028 he has an external excuse that it couldn’t have been his policies, or him it was the Iranian expedition?

Az usual, @mdwest makes a great point. Oil prices are not yet at the level we saw in 2022. Just 4 years ago. There are a couple of posters who are claiming that the airlines will cancel their flights and we won’t be able to even travel to Africa this summer. Plus outfitters won’t be able to afford petrol for their vehicles. Nonsense. I hunted SA in 2022. The planes were flying and our PH drove us hundreds of miles over the 12 days we were there. It’s true that we Americans are often slow to react. But we are quick to overreact.

There are no completely non-biased news sources.

The ability to think critically contains the ability to evaluate the source, consider the biases and how they influence the article, and draw conclusions from that.

hmmmm.... now that crude is at $86.84 a barrel today.. where is @Pondoro posting daily barrel prices acting like the end of the world is near and @Ontario Hunter claiming that air travel is going to end?

For what its worth, WTI crude was trading between $86-$95 a barrel in February BEFORE the war with Iran.. In July 2022 when WTI was $101.27 a barrel I dont recall liberals thinking it was the end of the world.. in fact I distinctly remember the argument being made by the liberal media outlets that the President of the US doesnt have impact on oil prices..

Im waiting on pins and needles for the next sky is falling episode out of our resident chicken littles..
FWIW Barrons is considered to be a center-right news source and Bloomberg is considered to be center-left...

Well, at least one of those two is on my blocked list, so my honest answer to your question is "I don't know."

Who said anything about the war being over?

What was said is oil is back to the same price today that it was before the war started...

Last week you thought you needed to raise hell and complain every day and post the price of crude....

but today, no celebrating?

last week he is a war monger... but this week he is a chicken?

seems a little bit hypocritical to me..

Its showtime.....

True, that airport is run by the Port Authority. Not sure about the ATC in the tower?
My understanding is that all major airport ATC operations are run my FAA. The airport themselves are run by different entities. For instance IAD, DCA, and BWI are all run under the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority (MWAA) but the towers are still under FAA.

Some smaller airports have towers run by contractors subject to FAA standards. At least that’s how it worked last time I was having a discussion about it with a friend who lobbies for one of the pilot associations.

It never stops with you guys does it?

You gripe if Trump attacks.
You gripe if Trump withdrawals.

You gripe if Trump is silent.
You gripe if Trump speaks.

You gripe if Trump parts his hair on the left
You gripe if Trump parts his hair on the right.

Most of you acted the same toward Bush, his father before him, and Reagan before that.

I think the "Energy Crisis" could easily be solved by a return to steam power easily generated by tapping the hot air spewed by the left.

thats correct.. ATC are employed by the FAA... they are on the federal payroll.. in small airports some are contractors.. but still subject to all FAA standards..

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is [redacted]. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.
