Now that the impeachment trial is over, we’ve got to reunite the Republican Party and get our shit together. It’s time to move forward. Find new leadership. Find some people that can tell it like it is without the distraction of sticking a foot in the mouth. Someone more well-spoken but still having a tough edge. I liked most of Trump’s policies. It was the delivery and lack of presidential professionalism and vocabulary and that I didn’t like. Some people have to let Trump go now. He cared about saving this country from becoming socialist but I believe his time is over. If he runs again, it won’t go well and it will turn into an ego trip that will amplify the damage and cost us another election. We need to win in 2022 and then 2024. We can all sit back on our phones and keyboards and complain about mail-in voting and other election problems but what are we going to do about it? We need to fix the election procedures and come up with some better leaders, fast.

Agreed, but whoever is running the Republican plan seems to be doing not too badly at all. It is the Dems that have mouths full of feet right now. The strategy imo should be to just focus upon 2022 for now, dont even mention 2024. Jobs, the economy, and quality education will be the ticket, avoid the emotives like immigration, health, China, climate. The Buggar ups the Dems make there will be visible enough to speak for themselves. The Republican party must be the party of positives. The Dems have a very weak hand going into 2022 because all of their 'big change' policies will hurt all Americans, its happening already. They are banking upon their followers being willing to make the sacrifice, some will, definitely not all. Then between 2022 and 2024 the Republicans can unveil their redeemer candidate and all the Dems have is an even more doddery old Joe, or Harris the perpetuator.

I suspect the effects of DemonRat control will be sufficient to cause a Republican landslide in 2022. the problem with the situation is that it will be perceived by the USA adversaries, primarily China as a window of opportunity between now and November 2022 at which time the window will close. this would mean that China would see opportunity to pursue overt actions to takeover the USA. China has stolen enough technology to build a military that could compete with the US however having the information and being able to implement it are two different things. so my suspicion is that China will pursue a course of legal persuasion- that is, they will treat the US as the African countries- forcing the debts owed by the US into default, then demanding transfer of title of federal assets to China. By that point it wouldn't matter who was elected in 2024.

Landslide? The days of landslides are over. People on both sides are entrenched. The middle is quite small and we need to win it.

China has made exponential advances in military technology over the last few years. However I doubt that they would welcome a direct conflict with the US just yet. Even at a time when the US is leaderless and divided. For all their wiz-bang new ships, planes, weapons etc, the Chinese troops are not battle tested (if you exclude unarmed dissidents). More likely they will use the next 2-4 years to completely subjugate Hong Kong an possibly taking over Taiwan. When push comes to shove I doubt that Biden would stop them.

They will also beef up their network military bases on South China Sea "islands" Naval and airbases will be installed in those indebted nations across the Pacific, Asia and Africa. This will set the Chinese up for any action in the years to follow.

I suspect they may also get involved in putting down Islamic insurgencies in Africa. They will do this to cement their power and role as international strongman. The price will be resources and more bases. A side benefit will be the opportunity to blood their troops, update their tactics and field test their equipment.
