Politics

The Ukrainian leadership has only just recently repeated that there will be no negotiations until Russia leaves all their territory, including crimea....and from what I have read and seen they ain't losing their heart in the slightest....just a shame that some of the countries providing military equipment fkd around , and only decided to supply what was needed after it was needed and not months before....the f16s would be probably in action now as the pilots would have had pushing a year of training...the armour would have been in place many months ago if not for the thumb sucking by certain countries politicians..etc etc etc...too much worrying about winding putin up ....:E Nail Biter::E Doh:
The problem with negotiated settlements is that you have to give something away. It is probably too early for either side to have reached that point yet. So let’s presume that the grind continues without consequential territorial advance by Ukraine, which without the F16’s is the likely outcome. Then next year’s summer will likely see much the same situation as we see today. Aluta continua until one side or the other is ready to concede something.

Well then just keep voting for Biden. Inflation was up to near 10 percent on his watch and is now down to I believe around 4 percent so if that is what is important to you, then vote for Joe again.
Love how Trump gets blamed for Joes failures after over 2 years of Bidnenomics.

Watching too much CNN these days?
Please don't confuse me being a Trump critic with being a Biden supporter. I held my nose and voted for that carpet-bagger Trump... twice. And he botched the delivery the first term, and it cost him the second. We conservatives can do better (and must, if we want to win this time).

They say that humans evolve over time, grow an extra finger and that sort of thing. Well the Russia Ukraine conflict seems to indicate that they are acquiring smaller brains and smaller balls too. Clearly this thing is going nowhere, the Ukrainians have been denied the means for a breakthrough and the Russians are holding their own. Everyone, even the Russians agree that it must end in a negotiated agreement, but the slogging continues. What am I missing? Is the strategic genius aiming at wearing both down and reducing the world’s population a teeny bit? Testing new weapons? War is peace? The only sense to be made of this from the Western point of view is teaching Russia a lesson, but beware Ukraine doesn’t lose heart while you toy with them.
Fortunately Ukraine has a rather large vote in its future - one it has been exercising vigorously for a year and a half. This war won't end until either Ukraine or Putin (deliberate distinction between country and leader) decide the cost is too great to continue. It is one of the reasons I find Trump's bloviating about ending the war in 24 hours so ridiculous.

The tactics that they are using now are a unique adaption of German tactics in the spring of 1918 when they almost won the First World War. They are infiltrating Russian defensive belts with light infantry. Because they have no close air support, they are using drone dropped munitions to support those assaults. Because they have relatively little artillery munitions, they are using those rounds for pinpoint strikes against particularly well defended positions and especially for counterfire.

Another similar historical example, though much smaller in scale than the Ukraine frontage, is Montgomery's assault at El Alamein. There he used his infantry and engineers almost exactly as Ukraine is doing now. They infiltrated into the German Italian defensive belts destroying strong points and clearing lanes through the mine fields for the eventual British armor exploitation. That effort took ten days to create a penetration.

Ukraine is facing a defense in depth far deeper than Montgomery did. Montgomery also had the advantage of local air superiority to strike German troop and armor concentrations before they could counter attack. Ukraine is forced to attempt the same with rocket artillery.

One thing that is different is that the Russians seem to be trying to counter attack every Ukrainian advance. Though this does indeed slow that effort down, it is also hugely wasteful of Russia's remaining assets - particularly its armor and infantry. Daily losses are approaching those of the first weeks of the war.

In any case, such tactics are, by definition slow. The advance moves forward at the pace of dismounted infantry. What waits to be seen is if Ukraine has the power to create the rupture Montgomery did in Rommel's lines that led to the breakthrough and race for Tunisia.

It has to happen before the fall rains return are the attritional struggle will simply go on. I am cautiously optimistic. The correlation of forces continues to shift in Ukraine's favor and their will seems to be increasing rather than slowly collapsing.

Happy 4th America!

We all know Trump is not what we need for the next election. However, I’d like to point something out.

- How was immigration during Trump’s presidency? How about now?
- How was the economy with Trump? How about now?
- How was your 401K with Trump? How about now?
- How was crime with Trump? How about now?
- How was the woke movement with Trump? How about now?
- We were better with Trump or with Brandon?

Trunp had a lot of road blocks, even from his own party. His Tweets didn’t help, and his loud mount didn’t help his cause either. We all know he is a narcissist d*ck head. No question about it.

Lastly, I’d say, hopefully we can move on and elect someone who is electable who will steer the country in the right direction. However, I’d would also like to give credit where credit is due, regardless if it was all him or not. All of this happened during hiss administration. My 2 cents.

Thank God!

June is a tiresome month...

I gotcha. I apologize for saying you voted for Biden, I didnt really believe that when I posted it.

I was just sort of surprised by the negative reaction to the piece I posted from American Thinker, not exactly a libtard rag.

I largely agree with those who say that about holding their nose, though I did not, there simply was no other option. The big question is who will it be instead? I could get behind DeSantis, but I fear he is flailing.
I also fear many will stay home if Trump is the nominee and that is the same as voting for whoever the tards run. I dont think Biden will make it for a second term, the tards will pull his plug, he is just too far gone mentally and physically.

If the tards can get Trump in jail before the next election and they are trying harder now than in the last 6 years which is how long he has been under full attack from all sides, then its possible his campaign may fail, I dont know. I never thought it would get so far that he is now twice indicted and further charges are possible which is ludicrous!

But Trump made the colossal mistake of taking on the whole establishment, both parties and didnt realize just how scared they were of what he was doing, which was just totally upsetting THEIR whole applecart.

For those with sensitive ears, those with terminal TDS, the generic RINOs, closet Dems, Biden apologists and Independent, nothing burger, voters who don't like Trump's harsh tone or mean tweets..... I have found the perfect candidate to support. One who has the required big R in the title, who crosses all the "I"s and dots all the "T"s, the milk toast, refined, vanilla marshmallow and oatmeal candidate with a soft tongue, no overt grit nor tough inner core..... the perfect candidate........................... Mitt Romney !!! :)

Sad to say I voted for that a** hole but again, it was him or Obama and that left us with little choice, but man did he ever turn out to be a big fat fink!
I would vote for RFK Jr before I would vote for Mitt again!

Nothing wrong with "American Thinker." Several authors that they host are excellent. Vinve Coyner, however, is in my humble view, either stupid, ignorant, or deliberately deceptive. I would assume the latter. He is being dishonestly provocative because he knows it will get him lots of clicks, likes, and forwards from the core Trump true believers. His call for "revolution" is absolute folly and nonsense; as is his implication that Trump will somehow destroy the uniparty. Whatever that really is.

Again, unless Trump believes he can rule as a dictator rather than govern as a president, he better figure out before November how to unite our party. His attempt in South Carolina was a fiasco. Everyday that passes he alienates me farther. I suspect I am not alone.

Right now Trump has between 45-65% of the Republican vote depending upon who is polling. If he wins the nomination, he needs every single one of those 55-35% who oppose him within his own party. That doesn't count the independents he desperately needs.

While I agree with number of 'Trump' policies, he is a vortex of chaos. He was during his presidential term and after. This will not change.

On the other hand, our current administration must go down as the worst (corrupt AND inept) in our nation's history.

I am praying for some miracle to happen - a sane politician who can unite and lead the nation.

Thank you; and to be clear, if it came down to Trump vs. any of the Democratic candidates, I would vote for him a third time. But I just don't see a path to Presidential victory for him. I would hope to see someone like Desantis get some more spotlight and momentum, but I share your assessment that he needs much more than he has right now.

At this point, I firmly believe Trump will win the Republican nomination if he stays in; but I just don't see the general election scales tipping in his favor. This is assuming he runs against Biden; whereas, the Democrats could theoretically field a candidate who is equally or more repulsive than Hillary (Kamala Harris, anyone?), in which case Trump might prevail in such a scenario. That being said, I think the Dems will run Biden again; knowing full well that he probably won't finish a second term, so I wouldn't be surprised if they swap in their real choice for President as a new VP running mate for Sleepy Joe.

There is one big problem they have if they want to swap out Kamala, she checks off two big boxes for their voting base, color and sex. They cannot afford to piss of those two demographics if they expect to win.
Thus, Kamala will likely remain the VP, IF Joe is able to actually complete his first term and run for a second, both are somewhat doubtful.

I wonder how this idiot figures to enforce his edict. What a hammerhead!
