A short story from my hunting trip in Poland 2016.
Dates of hunting: 9-14. sept 2016
Agency: Korsholm, Denmark
Rifle: Sauer 202 Caliber 3006, bullet 180 grs Nosler Accubond

Our flight go from Oslo til Berlin (tegel), we get picked up by our driver and was driven to the place hwere we should stay

The Hotel where we stayed during our hunt nearest City is Trzebiatow.

Early next morning before daybreak the guides picked us up and uff we go.
The first morning I saw 4 big stags, but didn`t shoot any,
In the afternoon the same day we went out and stayed in i a high tower, lisening to the concert from the stags.
Just before dark, one stag arrived in the bush at 100 yards.

Stag shot at the first evening.

Ok I was finished with my hunt, what to do next, do they have som Roebucks left?
I must find out. Bravo, they had 1 left, And I told them thats mine,

Next morning we went out for the roebuck, we didn`t go far before we found one that was grassing out in the open field, we got out of sight and with right wind we started to stalk the buck. The buck was still out in the open field, thru my binos I measured the distans to 180 yards, and told the guide thats it was oh,
We found a good spot in the high gras and put the sight on the buck.
The buck fell on the spot, and the hunt was over.

A ordinary buck bites the gras at 180 yards

The Next afternoon I just relaxed and walk around the Hotel and listen to the stags roaring in the hils around me.

Suddenly the president of the club called me and asked if I was interessted in a another stag in a other place.
I thanked and sayd yes I`m more than interessed in a stag.
We had to drive for 2 hours from the hotel,
early next morning we wnt of, and managed to come to this new area befor day breaks,
We didn`t hear anything and we started walk and after 1 hour we heard a stag i the distance roaring, we go for him and scheck him out.
After 1/2 hour we were closem so close that we were afraid of spooking him.
We got around so we get perfect wind and we started to stalk him, we had to be very careful, when the stag was roaring we walk very slovly and quiet, when he was still we stand still and hardly take a breath, after a while with this tactic we were so close that we couldn`t come any closer, we had to wait, Suddenly he came out of the thick forrest and I had too lean over to see him and in the same moment I had the rifle in the shoulder and found him in my sight, a perfect shot, and the stag dissapeared, after a tracking for about 30 meters we found him dead with a perfect shot in the shoulder. I was really happy and satisfyed.
2 stags and one roebuck in 3 outings.

A really nice stag and a happy hunter.

Me and my guide, a officer from the Polish army

After a month the trophies was delivered to my home.

Thats all folks

Congratulations, nice trophies.

Looks like a nice area, I have only been to the south of Poland, around Cracow

Beautiful trophies! I'd love to do this hunt someday. And to see where my polish side of my family came from

Mule deer and Colorado elk seasons almost done! Hunters driving farm roads, looking for racks, their PH driving them along, I ask that you not pull into my drive. The buck behind me, on the boundary line of the GMU somehow knows. The hunter laughs, I would invite you in to see my Searcy rifles but social distancing prevails, darkness arrives and the buck slides away into secret tree grove...

I served my time in both the bush and during the bush war

I hope it did it justice

Education is where it is at - without it the wild places are history

You - sir - are well placed to make a difference
