on a lighter note...

It's sort of true. When calibers get improved and reintroduced they tend to be too much of a good thing. Everything I love in firearms was perfected before 1930:

22 Savage
240 Apex (243 is a fake clone)
257 Roberts
6.5x55SE
6.5 Mannlicher
7x57
280 Ross
303 Brit
300 H&H
318 Westley
333 Jeffery
350 Rigby
375 Holland
404 Jeff
470 NE
577 NE

If one of those is lacking for a given task, you probably ought not do that task.
What no 30-06

I was born in 1943 and own way too many rifles, all but 2 are older than I am, a #1v 25-06 and sorry to say, a Mannlicher Schoenauer MCA 243.

If one of those is lacking for a given task, you probably ought not do that task. The 3006 has had more impact then any round listed, deer, Germans, Japs, North Koreans, Viet Kong, bears, hogs almost anything that walks. In the hands of a well trained American or ally there had not been a more devastating or eventful round in the last 100+ years.

To continue this thought. Elk, moose, bear, caribou, big horn sheep, javelina, wolf, coyote, all varmits smaller then these and every plains game that walks the continent of Africa. There might be some consternation because this might not be considered a classical round. It’s not, this is a no nonsense, take no prisoners round and is still laying low those who have it coming. I like big calibers and have a plethora of guns to attest this fact. If it ever came down to fighting for freedom then the 3006s comes back out and I will try and walk in the foot steps of those who have relied on this round before me. Oh, I like the other rounds mentioned also.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
