VERY nice. The original owner was quite a mountain hunter wasn't he. That is a total of 49 chamois (gams) I do believe. It is rare to find such a rifle in Germany. So many were either destroyed by over-zealous occupation military police, or "liberated" from abandoned homes and brought back to the US in duffel bags. Congratulations on finding a wonderful piece of history. I saw a pre-war Bocksbuchsflinte several years ago with a similar record. It, like this one, had a mysterious pin that did not document a specific animal.

What a wonderful piece of hunting history and culture.

Beautiful rifle! The original owner was quite a hunter!

That has absolutely got to be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. There’s just something about an old gun, all the adventures that have been worn into that wood.

That's a pretty cool find for sure

If a genie granted me one wish, one that I would consider would be: enable all guns to be able to tell their stories.

That is one fine rifle that didn't spend it's life in the darkness of a safe! I would love to caress it, preferably on a deer stand. ;)Wonder when it was made?

I hope that rifle followed you home, and that you have many opportunities to add to the record shown on the stock.

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
