"Obsolete" items that you still use

Whenever I take a trip, I usually have a medium or large format film camera with me. I love using my iPhone for quick digital shots & the results are great. It's convenient & the best thing for sharing quickly. But I've also like the slow laborious way of shooting too & I enjoy developing the film. I like the way the photographs look. Not always better. Just different.

GI fart sack. Issued to me on a fire crew in 1977. When the season was over my boss told me to keep it. The Forest Service was switching to disposable paper sleeping bags. I absolutely love this old sleeping bag. It has a snap in sheet and snap in insulation layer. The shell is tight weave cotton canvas. I wore out the OD green sheet and had to make a replacement. I have another I made that's fleece for very cold nights. The bag is quite heavy and it is warm. Extremely nice to sleep in. Almost wore out though. I would love to find another.

W.J. Jeffery 8-bore 3.25" double rifle manufactured October 21st 1895. The old girl is regulated for an 85 caliber ball/bullet over 10 drams of black powder and i shoot it quite often when the weather is nice.
