After two years of severe drought, a good strong rain was very welcome in the Huab river valley today. When I was there in October, many animals were very very stressed with the drought. With any luck the land and wildlife will recover now that some moisture has returned. This is a picture of the river valley today, when last week all was sand and dust. Yay!

That is awesome! Fingers crossed.

I am cheering on all the local people, and all the plants and animals. Survival, and prosperity begins with rain, and regenerates with growth, Best wishes for a full recovery.

They really need it.... many days of it!

Great news, hope it spreads.

We are getting reports of rain all over Namibia. Some places are still missing out. Praying for all of Namibia to get rain!

Very glad to read this report, maybe this is just the beginning for them to have a normal wet season and a productive growing season. I keep tabs on the weather over there, as Namibia is on my list of places to hunt.

Awesome news for Namibia and the wildlife. This was sent to me Nov. 20th. Not sure when it was taken.

That poor kudu. Heartbreaking.

That Kudu looks sick. You have to feel sorry for animals in that kind of condition. Doubt that the rains can come soon enough to save him.....

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
