This is the Stupidest move I have ever seen for a company that depends on sportsmen/woman. This is too much "Keep Austin Weird".

YETI Drops NRA Foundation

SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2018

DATE: April 20, 2018
TO: USF & NRA Member and Friends
FROM: Marion P. Hammer
USF Executive Director
NRA Past President

For years YETI Coolers have been a hot item for sportsmen at the Friends of NRA Foundation Banquet and Auction events around the country.

These Foundation events raise money to support youth programs and educational programs nationwide. The youth of America who benefit from these programs are the future hunters, hikers, fishermen/women, bikers, campers, wildlife photographers, mountain climbers, sportsmen/women and conservationists who will protect our natural resources and recreational lands.

Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation. That certainly isn't sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping America's young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities. These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy
outdoor recreational and educational programs.

The NRA Foundation is 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable organization.

In this day and age, information is power. We thought you needed this information.

Thanks for the heads up. I will email them Monday and let them know I won’t be purchasing the 65 qt coolers that I normally do each year for my guys as safety gifts. I’m sure I won’t put a dent in their revenue but a bunch of us will.
I wish we could annex Austin to California!

It appears that Yeti was bought by a bunch of New Yorkers, that explains everything.

I have already sent them an e-mail, I expect the typical corporate BS answer.

In other news, they might want to wait on the IPO they are planning. I know I will not be buying one share.

Artic coolers are owned by guys in Houston, product is as good as yeti and cheaper.

My so-in -law has a couple of Yeti cooler and cups. He told me to get the RTIC brand as they are just as good and a lot less money. I now have several of their products and am very happy. He even likes the RTIC coolers better as they have a lip you can use to open them and his Yeti ones you have to use the hold down straps.

Even then I will pass the word to hunting friends to not get Yeti because of their anti-NRA/Hunting/Shooting position.

So now Yeti Coolers are for hipsters only? Unbelievable! Where I come from I thought I was the only person that even might hunt or fish that didn't have a Yeti Cooler in the truck! They are everywhere in the outdoor world!

Thanks for sharing! Hopefully everyone that sees this spreads the words to all their outdoor friends and family.

Thanks for sharing.

Some brands distancing thenselves from the NRA I get, almost. At least I understand the logic, even if warped, that they use.

This is just plain stupid though! It has to be a really high % of their customer base that are gun owners and very supportive of the NRA.

Yeti has been a trendy fashion thing since the brand hit the market. Was only a matter of time. I usually avoid trendy anyway. Never considered buying their products and certainly won't now.

I'll be emailing as well. Cody, I bet you (and myself) know plenty of folks in the oil patch that combined would put a pretty big dent in their business.

Oh and I second the recommendation on RTIC stuff - I have bought several of their products and they are great!

Thanks for sharing this..

I am one of the last hold outs I believe and have never purchased a yeti product..

I was giving pretty serious consideration to picking one up of their larger sized coolers soon though to use through the summer..

Now I'll make sure I grab something from one of their competitors instead..

Thanks for the link, I just launched them a note. I doubt their neighbors, most of whom can barely afford their Prius, are ready to pick up the slack.

This has to be one of the most idiotic business decisions ever.

Yes it is. My guess is, they think the hipsters who are buying beer at their Austin Store on South Congress is their target market. Wait till their Bubba parents who are financing their "Austin experience" cut them off or send them to College Station.

I just realized that I am showing my age, nowdays Bubba would send his kids to College Station, not Austin.

And their big warehouse is on 290 about 1 mile from my house!

I just sent an email to Yeti, asking if this is true.

I will report back their response.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
