My great grandfather was given two Mauser Obendorff's by his wife as a gift in 1938. a .93x62 and a .22. I don't really foresee opportunities to utilize these weapons and have them come to their right in my possession but I have to take transfer of ownership from my dad now.
I need to determine the monetary value of these weapons and find someone who would be willing to purchase the .93x62.
I in turn would like to purchase a CZ75 P10C and do the necessary courses and competency for ownership.
I am convinced that the Mausers are valuable but I'm looking to do a fair deal with someone who will really appreciate the value of these rifles.
The .22 is earmarked for my brother so I can't guarantee the availability thereof but there is a good chance that he will be open to an offer.
I can be contacted via PM.

Some pictures would help greatly. Old Mausers can go from not a lot to mega bucks so more info helpful

I would likely be interested in the 9.3x62 depending on what it is and how much you want for it.

As others have said, will need some good pictures of the rifles and including details and markings. Please let me know if you wish to. Thanks!

I will post pictures as soon as I receive them from my Dad, the Rifles are with him at the moment.
To answer the last question, I live in South Africa.

I would like to be in line for this nice rifle but being in Australia makes it difficult. Good luck with the sale.

Cheers,
Mark.

Think I understand @Mark R `s reaction very very well :)
What you have there is probably a Mauser Model A in quite good and original nic. Its a highly sought after and very collectible classic.
Great to see a gem like that turn up.
I`m sure others here on the forum could give you a pretty good value estimate once you provide better pictures. Production number, markings etc.

Good luck!

Wow, what a classic!

Does anyone know if it can be exported to the US?

WOW!! Just beautiful!! :E Wow:

Tell 'em you need it for camel hunting? Any decent gun shop should then be able to handle all the import BS for you.

BUY IT! (y)

My advice? Hold on to the Mauser. Rifles such as this are rare and that it has a family history makes it nearly priceless in my opinion. As for value, were you to sell, I’d not settle for less than 5,000 USD.

What you have is a old classic in very good shape that is very collectable, Have no idea what you can get for it in South Africa. If it were mine I would take it to the field and hunt with it as often as possible and make another generations memories with a family rifle.

Yep, its a beauty! Beyond the reach of most, including me sadly.
