For sale Liverpool 3 x 9 X
42 mm objective lens
The scope has tapered cross hairs

Nothing wrong with the scope I just don’t care for 42 mm.

A buddy of mine got this for me at an auction a few years ago,he gets excited when it’s my money.

$300 including shipping to the lower 48

Not sure what a Liverpool scope is - I'm guessing that it is an auto-correct botch. Appears the scope has a pre letter designation, which would mean the scope is over 50 years old or possibly a counterfeit. Clarification would be appreciated.

Does he mean Leupold? Like Ray B, I have never heard of a Liverpool scope. Perhaps it is an early project of the well-known partnership Lennon & McCartney from the early 1960s??

You are so hilarious...... I'm sure he means leupold just like the one shown in the pic, but then again I guess you've never had an auto correct issue so by all means throw the first stone.

Ray B threw the first stone-- or rather his autocorrect did. I am merely trying to inject a little sunshine and levity and see if anyone got the connection between Liverpool and the renowned English riflescope company of the early 1960s Lennon and McCartney. No offense meant. I hope none taken.

Talk about opening a can of worms.
I don’t blame you for being skeptical. The scammers are really good.

I called Leopold just a moment ago. They don’t have records on serial numbers without a letter prefix.

He verified the reticle is called a CPC.

He had some catalogs from the early 80s. He was guessing 1984 vintage..

If anybody’s interested, you’re welcome to send me a PM.
We can have a telephone conversation.

I hope a scammer doesn’t send me a message.

Not sure who he at Leupold was, but a 1984 scope would have prefix R, One from 1974 would have Prefix E. A numerical only serial number indicates a scope made prior to 1974. The date range of the scope could best be determined by seeing what the actual model designation is.

Numerical only serialed Vari-x II scopes were made 1969-1973. and had 5 or 6 digit serial numbers. Given that it is a high 6 digit number I'd guess the scope was made in 1973.

Can anyone say-- or think-- too much free time on some people's hands???? Wow-- we're texting and calling over a 60+ yr old scope??? Get a new vortex for the same money it has to be better with a lifetime warrany and no possibility of past problems. I must be missing something.

don't get it Hedge 774. You've not been one to waste time on this stuff. What gives? Hell I'll buy the damn thing if it's a big deal (tho I don't need it!). What's ohhhhhh man????

I guess that happens when you get older. Seems too, anyway

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
