Hunting whitetails in West Virginia and yesterday I shot a 5 point buck that had no tail at all. I mean it didn't even have a stump where a tail used to be. Has anyone else ever shot one like this?

Can't say that I have seen that one before.

Maybe it's good I took him out of the gene pool.

Looks like he's got a red nose too, must've been hell for him growing up! :D

I skinned and boned that buck today, he had no tail bone at all. I checked the buck in with the DNR as required by law, I reported it as a whitetail buck, they had no category for no tailed deer.

A no tail whitetail.....durn confusing to be sure

How do you know it was a "white tail"????? Hahaha

Interesting. Haven't shot whitetail but have never seen a african animal without a tail like that.

Interesting...

Ive seen stumps before... none without at least a stump. Odd.

I've seen that a couple times before locally. Something going on with genetics? Than again Three Mile Island is up river from me.

We had a calf born with no tail one time. Could be the same kind of deal?

All right lets just end this post ....any problems go to a Retail Store LOL !

Yep, I got in on the tail end of this story:sneaky:

Yeah I know what you mean, Three Mile Island isn't that far from where I live either. I shot that buck right next to the Cacapon River, God knows what's flowing in that river. In Wyoming we hunt on a ranch that has one of the largest uranium mines in the world smack dab in the middle of it. I guess I'm just asking to see some weird things.

Hello! I saw your post from last year about a missing crate from your hunt in Moz. I am curious how that all turned out? We (my fiancé and I) also hunted in Moz in 2024 and the trophies are being shipped with Hunters Services Limitada. We have some concerns on whether we will get the trophies home or not. May I ask who you hunted with?
