Anyone flown the Emirates route to Joberg and taken a one day layover in Dubai ? Anything interesting to see (I'm sure there is something) ? Would you do it again?

I have flown Emirates through DBX to JNB. I did not layover.... intentionally. Had I not been traveling with a firearm, I would have considered. It is a different place..... You have to go through significant paperwork if you chose to layover, and spend time in the city.

I recently flew the route, I had a 7 hour layover but found the bar, with some searching! There is a lot of things to do in Dubai but I have had my fill of the Middle East hospitality and opted out on the long layover and day trip. They do have nice day rooms at the AP that I will definitely book if I fly the route again. Emirates was a nice airline for the most part, the stewardesses are almost worth the trip alone! Lol.

I have had the one day layover in Dubai. You will get a hotel from Emirates, the hotel will depend on your ticket class, your meals will be served at the hotel. You can easily buy city tour from the tour desk. My advise is to take Uber everywhere and avoid the packed city tour, not worth the money. The Burj Khalifa can take a good half day of time, pre-purchase your tickets before going. The Emirates website has about everything there is to see in Dubai and beyond. Personally, my next layover I want to go skiing.

There is the 3.5 hr layover option, which I was going to do unless I heard it was REALLY worth the time and effort to build a day layover in.

To get the hotel paid, you have to be on the shortest layover possible flight. 3.5 will not qualify for the hotel.

Leaving from DFW or IAH?
AA flyer? Don't forget to look at Qatar and pick up some miles.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
