I know I can find the 2 Blue and Black Wildebeest in South Africa but how and where do I go about finding the Niassa Wildebeest. I want to make a Trifecta Mount with all 3.

Mozambique and Tanzania are two places that come to mind.

This is interesting...I had never heard of a "Nissa" Wildebeest

Nyasa, also spelled Nyassa or Niassa, is a common word for "lake" in the languages spoken around what is now known as Lake Malawi. In the colonial period that lake was called Lake Nyasa and Malawi was named Nyasaland.

Here are some pictures from PH Christophe Morio posted on AH of Nyasaland Gnu in Tanzania

Looking forward to it! Those are some nice looking animals!

Must have crossed with a Nyala to get that chevron. Neat looking beast.

Blazerman,
You will find the Nyassa wildebeest in the south of Tanzania ( Selous ) and the white bearbed wildebeest in the north ( (Masailand ). You will also find the cookson wildebeest in Zambia. They are not difficult to collect as they are plenty and they live in the big open plains. It is better to plan a precious game safari and shoot one on the way or for bait. For me the most beautiful is the Nyassa with the white chevron on the face and the orange purple coat.
Do you know that the wildebeest are the same family than hartebeest, alcelaphinae.
Cheers

The white bearded/black tailed gnu is the only one I have at this point. I may pursue a blue in Zim in June depending on how other things go.
