Hello,

Hello, I am new here, so please forgive any questioning I might have that may be unrelated! We are from Norman, OK but living in Midland, TX until we move to S. Africa (Limpopo) this coming September. Would like to take a firearm or bow, but not certain the permitting guidelines for long term residence. I am going on a business visa for 3-5 years. My wife/kids on long term visitors visas. I am a bit lost here in knowing where to turn. I would like to take a 30-30 rifle and compound bow, but there may need to be some kind of a extension to the initial 520 permit form. I am hesitant on even taking anything because I don't have an outfitter to help with all this. Thanks! - James

Welcome, if I was living there long term I would bring a 375 H&H and something like 30-06 that could be loaded up or down depending on what you are hunting.

Welcome! I am also currently stationed in Midland, but unfortunately no moves to South Africa in my future. Best of luck, I'm sure Henry w/ RiflePermits will get you sorted out.

Welcome James to AH! What a grand adventure you and your family are going to have!

Hi what you going to be doing in SA? ....and depending on animals you planning to hunt would go for something bigger than a 30-30.....not sure how it works in SA but if you allowed to on your permit buy something when you get.there. ....predictably some will say :D....a nice 9.3x62 sounds good to me

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
