Welcome to AH!!

Well I guess the title says it all, new argentinian member here, have been reading mostly Ruger No1 stories and experiences so I'm happy to find the forum to keep learning as I have a dream in the next couple of years of being able to walk in the dark continent looking for Buffalo. Hello to all of you and greetings!
D.
Welcome to AH

Welcome to AH! Nice to have you as part of our community, really looking forward to your input.

Welcome aboard DiegoE. Do you have a special interest in Ruger No. 1(s?) LIke, do you own one? If so, what caliber and what have you hunted with it?
Hi there Shootist43 yes, yes and yes, I do own a couple, well only one right now, a K1B Sportster laminated in .300 Win Mag, it is actually my second one in .300 WinMag. as my first one was sadly stolen from my truck last year. The first one was actually beatiful to my eyes, blued gun with nice walnut, it had a barrel band, sights and a customized forend more like a Farquharson. Now the laminated one it was in my sights for 12 years at the gun shop where I frequently buy ammo and reloading supplies, you could say almost like if was waiting for me this whole time. Finally I bought in March and this past August went to the "monte" and was capable of shooting one "jabali" on the last minutes of light in the last day of hunting. A pretty simple task for a 180gr .30 caliber at nearly 60 meters. Now we are waiting to see if hunting season is extended for another month to return to La Pampa. For the No1 or single shot for that matter are not very common here, mainly because hunters here have a very strong bolt action tradition and you don´t have much offer by these latitudes. But I find them beatiful so whenever appears if money alouds it, I plan to buy it. A double falling block in a big game cartridge it is my dream.
Thanks to all for your kind messages,
D.

welcome countryman! I had a laminated ruger No. 1, semi bull barrel. stainless too heavy to hunt, I didn't even shoot it and I sold it. I hope I can have an N1 in 375hh. Greetings from Córdoba!

Hi Chino!! que haces cordobes?? A No1.H in .416 Rigby was for sale at one of the major sites here for gun trading (FA Shop), I´m selling other guns to fund the purchase. If you happen to see around a No1 for sale please let me know. Saludos!!,

DiegoE, my oldest son (Art Lambart II) and I both own Ruger No. 1 (s). His is in 30-06 mine is a 7MM Remington Magnum. Both are very accurate rifles. My son has taken his to Africa twice as well as hunted Wild Boar with it. I prefer repeating rifles myself. We had Red Stag hunts booked with MG Safaris in 2020, but Covid prevented us from going. Hunting Wild Boar can be a lot of fun and can produce some good eating, providing they aren't over 200Kg.

Hi Art great calibers there, I'm sure they are a pleasure. You should check to see if you can rebook your hunt as economy here is going deep down straight to the sewer for us but for you I guess it could be interesting. Indeed wild boar (jabali) hunts are amazing and special, these are mostly the way I used to hunt, by the light of the moon in complete silence is truly magical.

Hey Diego,

Bienvenido from a fellow Ruger No. 1 fan.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
