Elephant tusks, replicas?

Mine wasn’t sold it was free, you just have to be in the right place when a problem animal is needed to be shot.
Exactly.
I was on the Community hunt I'd purchased at auction, and the opportunity(ies) arose.

Thought PAC hunts were illegal to sell?
Question is in what country, and by what law, and which article defines that?

This is general narrative on the forum, but when I asked exactly which law in which country stipulates that this is not legal I received no answer here. Try asking.

Some time ago, there was a PAC hunt organised for a lion in Namibia, apparently under supervision of rangers etc.... and then it was commented on the forum by persons involved. Basically all legit. However, this is unwelcome subject for some reason. I am not certain even if that thread is still present here.
Some threads have been deleted with unwelcome topics.

Scott, your tusks look so authentic which pair are the real thing and which ones are the replicas?
Thanks! The real tusks are on the bottom or they would probably crush the replicas.

@Scott CWO , what are your replicas made of? They look outstanding!

@mark-hunter , I had the wildlife gallery make a replica of a PAC elephant tusk, it looks good, I sent them the dimensions and they matched it in length and girth. I think it was around $500 back in 2014. The one draw back is it’s made of some kind of foam and is extremely light.
Here is a long range picture.
I think fiberglass but I will ask Debbie. I don’t remember what she said earlier.

Take a look at the Kanati website (Kanati.com). They do amazing replicas. Give them photos and dimensions and they do the rest. The cost of replica tusks are about $1100 per pair and the shipping from Pennsylvania to your US address should be a fraction of the shipping cost from a taxidermist in Africa. I killed a good bull in Zim November 2025 and they are doing mine.

Debbie confirmed that the replicas are fiberglass.

I am at early stages of elephant hunt planning.

One of the considerations is to have replica tusks, in case of import problems or in case I go for non exportable elephant.

If anybody had experience with replica elephant tusks, the questions are following:

- what is the price to be expected of replicas, or the range of price?
- do they make them on the mold based on actual tusks, or they have standard size molds?
- how does end product look like? Pls post some pictures?
- are you happy with that type of trophy?
- other details from your experience? Pros, cons?
Good day.
Kindly forward me your e-mail address , we will gladly assist you in this regard.
Regards

Mckenzie taxidermy supply, tusks and bases were like $800. Had my taxidermist paint them up how my tusks looked based on multiple pics

@cpr0312 , are your tusk bases from McKenzies as well?

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
