Had a 1973 Jaguar XJ6 and a -83 Jaguar XJS V12.. But the best was a -83 BMW 635CSi euro spec. manual..more like a racing engine 10:1 compression..had to feed with 98 octane fuel...used Castrol 10-60 racing oil..

The sound of that engine past 4500rpm...a bavarian wolf howl...!

2nd gear 100km, 3rd gear 160, 4th 200 and maxed out at 245 on the Autobahn..

Bought a Jaguar 1983 XJS HE 12cylinder coupe, liked it a lot, but had a lot of problems, sold it in 1985,

60 years ago I had a Jaguar XK120, I have always wanted another one. Loved the sound of that straight 6. Drive it one day work on it for the next 2.

My dad had one of those when they came out...he was hammering it over the moors in north east England , and some guy in a car not paying attention pulled out in front of him.....my mother kept the newspaper story on it...the xk 120 was in pieces..not very big ones...one of the spokes from the steering wheel penetrated his chest...he pulled it out and went and helped the person in the other car..his face was bit smashed up as well....after it was all sorted the police gave him a lift home...they weren't married at the time, but my mum went around and took one look and said you have to go to the hospital..he wouldn't...eventually agreed to go to see his friend who was a doctor..he examined him and said...how the hell you are still alive I don't know....I couldn't have pushed a scalpel through where the spoke went with hitting your heart or arteries....dad let him patch him up and went home....old school hard arse ....and my mum prior to the crash learned to drive in the xk....somewhere in storage there is a photo of her sitting in the driving seat....

I just bought this little thing in Pretoria, it will be for running around town and a bit of touring in South Africa. Specifically it is a 1275E, the last of the mini types made in Cape Town at Blackheath. The E has the de-tuned version of the GTS engine, so it is more reliable whilst still having some pep.
This is a before shot, it will get a respray, same colour but without the stripe, white roof, new interior, brightwork and lights. Oh, and new Minilite 12 inch wheels to accomodate the disc brakes up front.

Here are the pics.

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
