This year so far I have trapped seven. I scalped ten last year. The dogs will and do kill the calves and or sheep readily. In Victoria we have a Government bounty of $120 which is a handy cash grab now and then. There are a few rotted dogs missing from the tree, between the flies and the summer heat they don`t last a real long time.
Fellow trappers will ID the trap as a Jake.

Excellent! Can you call them in like we do our coyotes? If so, what sounds do you use?

Very interesting perspective, that most of the world will never see or hear about. Thank you for the insight!

I’ll back Sambarhunter on this. We’ve heard this “joke” many times mostly from overseas folks because of what they associate with dingoes - and there’s much more to these animals than that. Also many Australians either know some of the folks involved or have connections with family of folks involved. I do. Further, many hunters have a good deal of regard for the little girl’s uncle.

One of the defining moments of my life was camping-out alone and listening to over thirty dingoes calling to each other around me. Eerily beautiful and haunting and I made sure that rifle was close to my swag.

Indeed there is Benkk.

Btw I hear the chorus from the house some nights and agree with your words "Eerily beautiful and haunting " and then I make sure the traps are right lol.

The black + tan dog last in line is caught here with his pack mate,a dog that gave me a bloody good snarl one morning when unarmed.

The brindle dog is the snarler and I want that ####. I got his boss a few weeks ago,a very big creamy dog that ruled them all.

The teeth on him showed his old age but he was fat in the guts when I opened him up to retrieve his bladder.

I do my traps every morning and can get a bit jaded at times with nil results but then "bang" I find one in the bracelet ready to join the tree mob.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.

Hi EGS

I read your thread with interest. Would you mind sending me that PDF? May I put it on my website?
