Another step done riflepermits.com

I don't understand why paying some private party gets you past the lines to enter the country and get your permit. Does the contractor bribe the Customs officials to skip the line, or what?

It's Africa.

Avon House Got me through the rifle permit BS and My PH got me through on the way home

This discussion of sending originals strikes me as a bit odd - and expensive.

I've used AfricaSky for my permits on my last three safaris and I've always just faxed the paperwork. Even the notarized stuff. No cost and no trouble.

^^^

Totally agree Hank. What I don't get is I know I didn't have to do it using riflepermits.com.

It could be that different companies require different things.

And as was said..........It's Africa

I get that, but adding over $100 for FedEx radically changes the value proposition.

You don't have to use FedEx and spend $100 you can use the USPS for $20 and hope that the paperwork arrives in time.

I used USPS and sent my paper work in to the permit company the end of January, they received it about a month later. It was a good thing that I sent it 4 months ahead of when I was going to arrive.

They received my fax about a minute later.

And that's enough from me on this subject.

AfricaSky wins this conversation I do believe!!!

Do Africa sky and Afton house provide this service if your not staying with them or is it only for guests?

AfricaSky provides this service - I just completed my SAPS 520 to email to them!

You do not have to be staying with them to avail yourself of the service. They will obtain the permits, meet you outside of baggage claim, and take you to the Firearms Office to get your guns, ammo and the permits (and help you re-check if you are flying elsewhere).

Afton house provides the same service without staying with them. Very accommodating to your needs. My experience with them has been excellent.

Emails have been sent to both Africa sky ans Afton house

I scanned and emailed my SAPS to Africa Sky last year, and they had my permit about a month later. Africa Sky is A++.

The original requirement is something that stopped me from ever using this type of service. More PIA than doing it myself if originals were required.

Glad someone got the job done with a fax.

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
