Loosely based on a true story…or stories…

An extraordinary PH, whom many of you know (either by reputation or personally) recently had the misfortune of cracking the neck on his double rifle while hunting elephant.

Fortunately, his breakfast was saved that morning!

However, the left mate of his favorite pair of hunting footwear was impounded by the bush - perhaps by the grieving matriarch of the herd as compensation toward the loss of her favorite tembo kuime?

So there was an urgent need to expedite the new Rigby Shikari rifle he had on order.

A .500 Nitro Express(ed) in Roman numeral.

The double is now almost complete, together with some critical upgrades specific to the incomparable Mr. Buzz Charlton.

Correspondingly, his preferred footwear has also been upgraded so that it is finally fit for purpose.

We are here for you Buzz!

Wow what a rifle, truly stunning and absolutely fit for purpose!! The Croc on the brass inlay is genius
Buzz must be so excited to get it! I confess to being less enthralled by the new boots

The Roman numeral “V” in the fore-end is actually original inlay in the oak that was used from the HMS Victory to make this gun. This was one of the Victory Edition guns that were made in commemoration of Rigby’s 250th Anniversary!

It hopefully goes without saying that the “facts” in that story were given the Hollywood treatment.

NICE looking rifle. Love the Croc on the inlay. The history of the oak V is also special. I am sure he will get years of use out of that fine double.

Brilliant start to such a splendid weapon…one which shall have such a rich and colorful life ahead of it. If wood and steel could feel anticipation, this would be a gun that should be more excited than the owner. Oh the times they’ll have.

And love the croc in the medallion…very funny and fitting.

Cannot wait to see the finished rifle, especially the finished stock…such stunning grain. And how it looks at Buzz’s 65th birthday if he hunts it as hard as that Heym 88b in the years to come. Sure hope so.

Cheers and early congrats to both Buzz and J Rigby.

too funny. And too good!

When I hunted with Buzz I thoroughly enjoyed his croc wearing affair haaa! They must not of been in sport 4x4 mode (straps on)

Buzz has a look on his face that looks like he’s telling himself the Rigby rifle will be worth the photo!

Sir, I think I have been writing to you about the purchase of the HK 639 rifle under an email "Tt Jake." If this is you, then I am truly interested. I am just trying to verify identify. Tt Jake is asking for a cash transaction. No disrespect intended, Just trying to verify who I am talking to. Thank you. Respectfully. Dan

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.
Finally back to somewhat normal I missed reading the messages and posts
