During my Buffalo trip this year the airline lost my checked bag including my ammo. I sent a WhatsApp to my PH during a stop over telling him what had happened and he managed to find a friend with some components and they spent their Sunday making loads for me. These duly did the job with a one shot kill on my bull.
I kept the projectile from the bull and was wondering if anyone recognised it? It’s a 350g .458 turned brass solid.

Cheers,
Dan

Others may be able to positively identify it. But I'm guessing maybe a North Fork. Since it looks somewhat more similar to my 300 grain 375 diameter than it does my 500 grain 458 diameter bullets.

They’re clearly unbanded. So that rules out Rhino, Kreik, Impala, DZOMBO, Northfork, Cutting Edge Bullets or GS Custom. But they’re flat nosed. So that rules out A Square or the Barnes Super Solids of the past.

So I would have to say, these were were manufactured by a small scale local African bullet maker.

Here's the target for the NorthForks - 25yds off a bag, iron sights. Hunting leopards over dogs the range won't be more than that.

Flew in an airshow in Smyrna years ago, beautiful country.

Best regards,

Franco
