I'm currently starting to build a 416 Rigby on a Mausingfield action with a K&P heavy #5 barrel. Having a hard time find a stock. Can either be a synthetic but prefer a wood one that isn't 7K. Still up in the air on who's bottom metal I'll use as they are tough to find in stock right now. Any suggestions on a stock and or bottom metal would be appreciated. I spoke with McMillin about a stock and they didn't seem interested and told me they were 6 months out anyway.

I am not familiar with Mausingfield but I looked up their web page. From what I could see they don't make an action for a .416 Rigby. I think .338 Win mag is as big as they go.

Very good. Good luck with your build.

that action uses the remington 700 foot print so you should be able to find a stock but the mag box might be a tough one to locate

You're thinking any LA Remy stock will work even with the bottom metal that I'm needing? Also what about the barrel contour inlet for the stock?

That is my understanding on the stock, but you would need at least a RUM magazine box. I would recommend calling Mausingfield and get the exact information from the source. For the barrel contour you will most likely have to open up the barrel channel. If this is something outside your skills and or comfort zone you will most likely need to get with a stock maker and see what they can do for you.

I cant help you with an answer, but very interested in how you go with the build. I have the same action with the same bolt face as you have. Just earlier this week I was thinking about whether I could build a 416 Rigby on my action.

Not sure how your search is going. But I have looked around and I think the Hawkings Hunter bottom metal will work. Ive heard of guys building 300 Normas (COAL: 3.75") they wanted longer but werent able to find anything to work without a lot of hassle.

I think with those and LA flush magazines, you may get it to work.

Looking forward to the build.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

X5i scope is perfect - thanks for an easy transaction! Buy with confidence.
Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike
