Favorite dangerous game scopes?

Swarovski 1-6x24 Illuminated with extended eye relief is the gold standard. No longer made, but available if you dig.

Swarovski 1-8x24 illuminated is an excellent optic as well, but never came with the extended eye relief. Its an excellent optic, although the 7-8x magnification is usually unnecessary for dangerous game.
+1 on the swaro’s.

I settled on the Stratos 1.1-5x24mm with FD9

IMHO, it’s very difficult to beat the Trijicon Accupoint 1-4x or 1-6x scopes. There’s a number of different reticles that are available. They are built incredibly sturdy, and the glass is equal to anything Leupold offers. The glass is not on par with the Swarovski, S&B, or much of the Zeiss lines. But they are built better overall. Nightforce is probably the only scope built as good or better!?!? Also Trijicon sells those scopes for about $1000.

Trijicon accupoint 1-6 x 24 with the duplex rectical and green dot
Is simple and extremely durable, it survived the drop test that Lupold and Swarovski did not
I have one on my 404 Jeffrey and the 2.5-12.5 version on my 375
They now make the same scope in a 1-8×24.

I have a Trijicon Accupoint 1-6x24 on my 375 H&H and I am very satisfied. Made my longest shot at 312 yds with this scope without any issues. Oh, and you don’t need a loan to own one :ROFLMAO:

On a bolt-action rifle in caliber .375 H&H I have a Leupold VX-6 1-6x24.
On a double rifle in caliber .470 NE costs a Swarovski habicht 1.25-4x24.

I'm used to both scopes, and I don't want to change them yet. Although the Swarovski model is already quite outdated. However, she is reliable and I have no complaints about her.

In Africa: Swarovski Z5 2-10X42 on Talley QD

In Alaska for Brown Bear: Zeiss Diavari 1.5-6X42 on Talley QD or Leupold Patrol 1-6X24 on Talley QD

They now make the same scope in a 1-8×24.

The sensitivity to align your eye to a 1-8x24 versus a 1-6x24 is a big difference. I own several of both. I would prefer not to have the 1-8 on a DG rifle. I like something that at 1x comes up to the eye as fast as iron sights before I get stomped on.

NightForce or Trijicon are the most durable and have passed drop tests that Leupold, Swaro and most did not pass. The glass may not be as clear as Swaro or Zeiss but it is more than adequate.

The Leupold VX6HD 2-12 x 42 with the Firedot reticle and CDS served me well on my Winchester model 70, 375 HH on a recent safari in Zimbabwe. You can use the low power for Buffalo or dial to distance for Plains Game. Really good value for the money.

Iron sights. Just saying. :)

I have not noticed a difference!

I’ve had a Leupold VX6 1-6 x 24 brake on my 404 Jeffrey
If your going to use a Leupold, make sure your safari sights are sighted in properly in case it fails, also make sure you have QD mounts
Funny post, my friend!

I dig it the most, my man!

Looking at getting a new scope for my 375h&h for my upcoming kodiak brown bear hunt. Currently has a 2.5-8 leupold.
Looking for the clearest and most durable scope possible. Been looking at maybe a trijicon accupoint.

What's y'alls favorite?
You already have the perfect setup, you don’t need the best glass on the market, you’re going bear hunting not competition bench rest shooting. I just got back from my 6th successful brown bear hunt in Alaska in May and on all of those hunts I used a 2x7 or 2.5 x8 Leupold except one time I used a 4x12 Leupold and I didn’t care for it on that hunt. I just don’t like that scope, period.
My last hunt was with a 2.5x8 Leupold on 338 Edge plus P. The whole setup weighs under 8 pounds and one of the guides did his best to get me to trade him even up for his Weatherby 338/378 with a big ass Leupold on it. He wanted it because it is so lightweight and practical.

I actually just acquired a vx5hd 2-10, I had one on my previous 375 and loved it. The 2.5-8 that I have is nice and will get put on a different rifle, I just prefer the clarity of the vx5hd. Its handy for some of the other hunting i do

Thank you for the LIKE on my old post. It brought back memories as I lost her a year and a half ago, at 18+ years.
