I was having a conversation with @Mark458 this week, and believe it or not we were discussing upcoming trips and what rifles we would take on them. That got me thinking. I have several rifles that I feel just NEED to be hunted with in Africa. I have a couple of Huskqvarna mausers (6.5x55 and a 9.3x62), my Lipseys No.1 in .275 Rigby, my two pre 64 M70' in 375 and 300 HH, my Ruger RSM in .375, and my list goes on. I hope I live long enough to hunt them all in the Dark Continent. What do you have that NEEDS to see Africa?

.416 Ruger Alaskan
.375 Ruger Alaskan
.404 Jeffery CZ-550
.458 Lott CZ-550

I think that's it.

My Rigby HS 9.3x62 needs to get over there on an eland tracking hunt, that’s for sure. Walking down an eland and taking him with irons is my dream hunt.

I’d also take my Lee Speed 303 for some PG.

Copy that.

.275 Rigby and a .222 Rem

How about ones you only have a deposit on....

For me it will be my impending .350 Rigby and an Eland hunt. I plan to use 250gr Woodleigh protected points....maybe Woodleigh 310's
Who are you hunting with?

I have a Lipseys No1 International in 22 Hornet that will be out of layaway in another month. If I don't have to sell it NIB, it needs to go get some little 'uns!

So far with my current rifles but we shall see what gets added to the stables
-Custom cz 550 chambered in 460 wby (Mozambique in 2031 for cape buffalo)
-Grandfather's sako av chambered in 375 h&h (south africa in 2028 for eland and assorted PG)

Ruger #1: .458 Lott (If/when I chase buffalo again, this will go)
Blaser R8: 9.3x62 The reason I bought it was Africa
Blaser R8: .375 Wby mag: Just because
Ruger 77: 338 Win. Mag: I’ve used this rifle for almost 50 years.
Tikka: 7mm-08 I bought it specifically for African PG.
A few others if I’m able to go more often (7mm REM mag, .257 Wby mag, 6.5 Grendel (T10), .300 Wby mag)

Too many that need to go!
- Ruger Hawkeye African .35 Whelen
- Ruger Hawkeye African .275 Rigby
- Win M70 Featherweight 7x57
- Win M70 Cabelas new Safari Express .375HH
- Ruger #1 7mm RM
- Browning 1885 Low Wall .223 needs a dedicated tiny ten hunt!

1952 Remington 721 in 30-06. Mint. Period scope in detachable Stith mount. Ruark would have been proud

Ruger African. Lipsey’s edition. 9.3 x 62
Hell, it’s in the name.

Vektor Lyttelton in 30-06. RSA. It would just be going back home.

Mauser 98 in 9MM Mauser. Sporterized by George Gibbs, London. It’s just cool.

Sadly, I can’t see any of these ever making the trip with me. Suppose I should put them in better hands.

I have better hands for that 9mm ;)

Yes, I'm stealing Beck's post, but:

.458 Winchester Magnum - Winchester Model 70
.458 Winchester Magnum - CZ 550
.375 H&H - Newer CRF Winchester Model 70
.375 H&H - Browning FN Safari
.340 Weatherby Magnum - Weatherby Mark V

any of my several .30/06's

Rifles I have taken:

.470 NE - Heym Model 88b
.416 Rigby - CZ 550
.375 H&H - Winchester post-64 push feed
.300 Winchester Magnum - Weatherby Vanguard

Too bad, the .470 didn't have an opportunity to prove itself...

Good morning from Montana.

I'm looking at a post from 2018 where you were looking for a lefty Winchester in .375 H&H Magnum. I'm selling mine. My email is [redacted] in the event that you're still searching for a unicorn.

Best,

Kelly Palmer

Good Evening. I am very interested in you hunt for the spiral slam. March in 2028 would be fine for me

Couple of quick questions:

1) Can we add some additional species on
2) what do you want for a deposit?
3) how do you want me to sign up

I'm on whats app or email

Kurt [redacted]

have a great evening
