I really appreciate you sharing your, "I have to do this by myself, just once." adventure. I've had a couple of those, most would get laughed at in this thread. But I did them and I'm here to tell the tale. That's what counts. I read your very first post (All the way to this one) and it reminded me of others accounts of their moose hunts. I even said the same thing as I finished it, "Yep. I'd be dead. God please bless my brother." I tip my waxed canvas cap to you Sir, and all those DIY moose hunters out there. Just as importantly, I tip my cap to all of us who say, "This is something that I just have to do." God help us...

That was all I saw when he came in. I saw that he had at least 4 brows so decided to shoot. Had no idea he was in the class he was till we walked up on him. Good times

50 miles north of Liard hot springs. I’ve never camped this spot before. There are certainly worse options. Like, for example, paying an extra $20/ person tax at Liard for not being a BC resident.
Will arrive in Fairbanks tomorrow early evening.

Best of luck. Hard to beat a good moose camp.
And after doing a moose hunt up the Koyukuk ten years ago or so, we made a pact to exert all efforts to ensure moose died on dry ground. 3 of the 4 moose we shot ended up in the damn river…mine included. Come-along and chainsaw winches make for handy additions when room allows.
