Hello looking for a 3oo h&h magnum or a 9.3x62mm mauser rifle not looking for a collectors rifle just a good hunting rifle for here in the states thank you

That price in those caliber may be tough. I did see a nice 1917 300 h&h sporter on guns international and while back in that price range. I think you luck will be higher to find a 300 HH. Quick question, why not a 300 win mag if a 1,000 is your budget. I think you can find a number of options if your willing to get a 300 win mag. Ruger Africans in 300 are in that price range every few months on gunbroker. Good luck. I would also consider a 338 win mag.

If your sure you don’t want a 35 whelen or 358 Winchester
The 9.3x62 no question over a 30

I forgot about simpsons, do guys have good luck with them?
I haven’t used them personally, but I keep getting tempted. I’ve heard the Husqvarna 1640 stock can use a little modification to prevent cracking though.

Even with a cracked stock he has room for a replacement stock. Probably boyds?

I have bought several rifles from them; 2 of 5 I have bought did not headspace correctly. Another rifle I bought was sold "out from under me" because I sent a check and someone else offered to buy immediately using a credit card......so they got it. Pretty pissed about that, talked to owner and got no satisfaction. They may have a bargain from time to time but be careful!!

May be willing to sell you my 1953 Remington 721 in 300 H&H with 1954 Lyman All American 4x scope for what I paid: $750 plus shipping.

if we could meet face to face i would be interested in the 721.

There is a place called TruPrep in Marietta, GA that has a 721 in .300 H&H for $799.

I’m in New Jersey on the Delaware River near New Hope PA if you want to meet. There is a little gun shop in my town who would do the transfer.

The day I left for my 1st Safari a few years ago, I was bidding on a Enfield Pattern 14 custom in 375HH being sold at auction. It was a stunning rifle and I was fully prepared to bid a few thousand dollars for the piece. Being sold right in front of it was an identical P14 in 300HH. I was fearful that if I bid on both, I would not want to have to pay for them both and thus focused on getting in a winning bid for the 375. I was too dumb to at least make a minimum bid on the 300HH. My flight was airborne when the items went across the block. Imagine my mixed emotions when I landed in Atlanta and learned that I had won the 375 auction with only the minimum bid that was many times lower than what I was expecting to pay and then also learning that the 300HH sold for... $500. Dooh.

I got a stunningly accurate 375 that has served me well but missed out on getting a matched pair of custom rifles. So, somewhere out there is a really cheap 300HH that I would pay a ton of money to acquire. They are out there. Keep looking.

I will talk to local FFL to see if he will collect the money for me and ship the rifle. If there is interest.

I am guessing CurtisDees is not interested in your rifle?
Seems like a side deal is going on in CurtisDees post without him passing on the rifle.
If that is the case then CurtisDees should get first right of refusal.

I have no idea if he wants it. He is located far from me. He’s welcome to it but he’s in Arizona. Leslie Hetrick expressed interest in a face to face meeting. Waiting to see who wants it if anyone I’m not a dealer. If not sold face to face I will have to see what my FFL will do.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
