Wanted: Very Easy Cape Buffalo Hunt

@TakeMeLord I'm sure I'll be able to assist you!

I've send you a DM

Cheers
Dieter

I wouldn’t describe it as “easy”, but the hunts in the greater Kruger allow for buffalo hunting without miles of tracking.

The terrain and road system is such that buff can be spotted by vehicle or glassing and then stalked.

Plus these are still wild buff.

@TakeMeLord We will be able to assist.

Will send you a DM.

TakeME-The PHs responding to your query will definitely accommodate you. I'm in the same boat as you; early 70s, 100% military disabled, cancer survivor, one lung, modified spine, and limited mobility in all my joints. Yet, a PH accommodated me. You can do this!!!

I would recommend Derian Koekemoer Safaris in Limpopo area. They are just outside the fence of Kruger National Park. I hunted with them this last spring, and I am 65. They can accomodate you. Their properties were fairly flat and you can spot and stalk from the vehicle if needed.

Feel free to send me a DM. I would be happy to speak with you, or answer any questions.

Thanks,
Smitty

Morning Sir
I have excellent buffalo hunting in Zimbabwe. I believe you will manage just fine in this area. Furthermore, there are more than enough buffalo in this concession whereby you will have a true hunt and not be pressured to harvest the first hard bossed bull you see. The numbers are excellent and we only target dagga boys and leave the herds unmolested. Please DM me for further information. I would be very happy to help you.

Sincerely
Dave

Congratulations on being Cancer free sir.
We do have what you’re looking for, we hunt the Lowveld of South Africa. Our hunting areas is mostly Private Game Reserves bordering the Greater Kruger and is low pressure hunting with strict quotas.

That's exactly my dilemma. I'm already 76 years old and not in great shape anymore. I've hunted all my life, but I still haven't bagged a buffalo. Two hunts in Zimbabwe were unfortunately unsuccessful.

Now my knees are in bad shape; walking all day is out of the question. I would never shoot from a vehicle. So I thought the only option would be a hunt in the Greater Kruger.

I am not sure about local rules, everywhere - but maybe there is a chance to shoot buffalo from blind..
It is not traditional way, but check it out. Maybe Kruger as you say.

Another way is scouting by car, and approach by stalking, but I dont know where you can 100% plan like that. As a matter of fact, I stalked buffalo like that in Caprivi, flat plains, but it does not mean it is always like that. At same place very next day my friend shot buffalo, but that one we tracked all morning (13.000 steps, to be exact)

You've gotten several responses from Limpopo outfitters whom I'm sure will take good care of you. I like the idea of you hunting near Kruger and also touring the park if you haven't yet. I'd suggest following up and even talking to some Outfitters. If you don't have it, install WhatsApp and do a video call with them. If their internet is slow you may have to just do audio but WhatsApp is widely used and you'd swear they are standing next to you. And free!

We took my Father in Law who limps badly from a foot held together with plates and screws, neck fused and a few other issues. He was 71. He got a bushpig from a blind at night. An impala and really good buffalo spot and stalk. Then he sat in a blind for a warthog and took a bigger impala, a blue wildebeest, and a great warthog. Hunted Bossie at Limpopo Big Game Safaris. He and his staff were extremely accommodating and still ask how "Pops" is doing. They featured his bushpig video on their Facebook page again over Christmas.

If at all possible do fly Business or First Class. We used the VIP Meet and Greet service through Afton House. And Gina requested a wheelchair at the airport for her father. So we got the wheelchair guy and the meet and greet girl. They met us at the gate when we landed. Took us around all the lines, got our luggage for us. Took us to the Police Station to get our guns where Mr X had the permits all handled. We actually had a connecting flight to Vic Falls for a pre-hunt trip so Mr X asked the two helpers to take us to our flight, which was not part of the package deal. He told me to be sure to take care of them ;) Mr X took our rifles to storage at Afton. When we got to out Zim flight the girl said they are not allowed to go outside the gate. I gave both one of those new Biden twenty's , a $50. And she went and grabbed a safety vest and pushed Pops out to the buss that took us to the plane :) Got to love Africa when it comes to bending riules and getting stuff done!

Lizzy, Bossie's wife, took us on a 5 day tour of Kruger after the hunt. Gina's dad had the trip and hunt of his life!

You only live once and I'm sure you've worked hard for your money. Go and live life and enjoy!

PM if you want my father in laws number and he'd absolutely love to talk to you about it.

It would seem that us 70s old military guys are just worn out and screwed! I lived a charmed life until 4 years ago. Best of luck to all of you with your hunts.

Never stop hunting until the Lord does take you, my friend!

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
