Yeah, the facts just don't pass the sniff test to me. I can't imagine this "anonymous" guy watching his wife close to dying in a hospital at 4 am calling someone he doesn't know to tell them the story about his "liberal" wife.

You guys are talking past each other bit.

He was charged with lying under oath, which likely will not see prison time.

Other actions he did, whether true or not, he hasn't been charged with.

The biggest issue for Comey is no one in DC likes him, not the left and not the right. The best thing he has going for him is that Trump indicted him, not Biden. He is a pretty tough spot.

I am pretty awake. But that is what the charges are. If you think there is some bigger conspiracy more power to you but the fact is that Trump's Justice Department didn't charge him with any of that. In fact the grand jury returned a "no" on one of the three charges they brought which is rare. His odds of conviction are pretty low.

I honestly don't think you are capable of educating me on these current events because you see them through such a twisted lens. I know a great deal about exactly what is going on in these cases. I am friends with lawyers who represent both members of the Trump family, and the Biden family (and here is a funny for you, they often use the same lawyers).

And to be honest, I actually understand what words like treason and sedition mean. I don't throw them around like cheap candy like you want to.

I am a Bill Davis/Maggie Thatcher conservative. Not a leftist. I would say I am a Reagan conservative but I have too much humility to put myself on that level.

What I am not is a MAGA person. There is very little that is remotely conservative about the MAGA movement.

This was the only way it would happen. Biden would have never. Not that he shouldn't have but that's a different story.

I think they are above 50%, it is a hard thing to prove though and Comey is an attorney. But if Trump keeps railing against him, I am guessing the odds drop rather quickly.
 
This is directed to my friends on AH that are older than 50 and have been lulled by habit into using the USPS. It sucks. It's a political disaster. It's annoying. It's inefficient. I hate it. I always tell people I'd rather receive a bad check than a good USPS money order. Either way, neither are getting cashed.

See, this is dangerous. If he's guilty of lying under oath, so be it. He needs to be tried, convicted, and sentenced.

I worry that "we" (GOP/right-conservative) are going to play an eye-for-an-eye game in response to the last 4 years.

If it's there on Comey then indict, try, and let the arguments dictate the verdict. I for one want a completely unbiased justice system.

We are not going to have a GOP controlled government forever. These crazy liberals will be in power again at some point, unfortunately.

And this wasn’t one comedian being pulled off by his employers for lying on air, this was ordinary accounts being banned. Not for TOS violations but at the behest of the government.

Yeah man, not how the justice system works.

Remember, there is a thing called "stare decisis."

Eventually it becomes a political, weaponized justice system, based on a precedent of charging/prosecuting whoever you want for opposing political views.

Comey needs to face the appropriate charges, stand trial, and let the verdict fall where it may based on the arguments. Simple as that.

Now if the person is guilty of a crime? Indict them, plain and simple.
