Looking for African Furniture and Decor

I’m looking to buy African furniture and decorations for my trophy room. I would prefer to get something used from the States if not good suggestions of African sellers.

If you mean ethnic, like Bamaleki tables and Benin leopards, etc, then Amatuli in Johannesburg has a huge store full of it.
If you mean African colonial, safari then Nigel Jocelyn, Harare or African Track Woods, Victoria Falls.
Then there is Melville and Moon, Johannesburg, an absolute must to add in canvas and leather.
Finally Ardmore for pottery and special bits and pieces, but hugely expensive.
 
These guys do some nice looking campaign furniture - they are in India but their website says they will ship all over.

I have not used them - just had a good look at their range.

Beautiful stuff. I'm going to bookmark that website. The snap caps and the cartridge box are just lovely.

Yes Mark - J&R Guram’s products are great . I got a very nice 10 gun teak folding gun rack from them . Great “Campaign Furniture”.
 
IN TEXAS

I’ve had these guys make a lot of stuff for me. Affordable when using your own tanned hides.
They have some tanned elephant leather of mine now. Making odds and ends.

I would listen to Kevin. I have been to these places not long ago when I had some down time…just awesome!!! I have no idea about shipping but I can tell you the colonial camp furniture at M&M was less than half the cost in America and I also found out several US retailers use M&M as their source of product
 
I had leather gun cases and a messenger bag made from my wife’s Buffalo last year

and had all but abandoned them because the shipping was going to cost far more than the products themselves

a friend Island volunteered to go pick them up and Bulawayo and bring them back for me last month.
 
There was a Hemingway Safari line from Thomasville Furniture for a while. You might call the local dealers and see if they can locate any in a showroom that hasn't been sold.

They have the style I’m looking for but 5k for a chair seems really high. I’m wondering if I can find a lot better deal in African and ship cargo with some animals.

I am very happy with the custom carved doors and island front that I am currently installing in my showroom. I also had Kudu/Oryx horn chandeliers and sconces made but they are awaiting installation...once they are up I will post pics. Below are pics of the doors and island front. Notably, Larry found some real Zulu spears and used them as the pull handles for the carved doors.

I would plan to attend the SCI Convention in Nashville in February. You will be amazed at what is there!
 
I have brought some beautiful leather and teak chairs over in my taxidermy shipments from Collett’s Wildlife Artistry in Bulawayo and Praetoria. Their work is some of the best I have seen.

These are a few. I have a Buffalo leather duffle bag that I just loaned to an AH member for travel to Zim.

Ammo wallet and shotshell holder. Outside of the shotshell bag is the scrotum from my first Buffalo
