I think we did. Well beyond in fact when we liberated France from the Germans. Twice.
This "liberation" was an outcome of US involvement but the US in both war remained a neutral up until Hitler declare war on the US 7 days after Pearl Harbour in ww2. In ww1 the US had financial interest in europe and was to lose a lot of money if Germany won. A historian would not nessesary see this as because US had a good heart or a return help to the french for a favor done 160 years earlier. This is very simplified but you americans like things "simplified"...right?..:LOL

I don't believe Louis XVI was all tbat quick to come to our aid either.

BTW, How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris?

No one knows because it has never been done. LOL

Be that as it may, the Liberation of France during WW II, particularly during D-Day and the subsequent campaign, an estimated 29,000 US servicemen were killed. This figure includes those who died in the invasion of Normandy and the campaign to liberate Paris. The total battle casualties for the U.S. during this period were around 135,000, including wounded and missing. I don’t really think in terms of “simplified” but a staggering loss of life that shouldn’t be forgotten.

Indeed. Louis XVI only aided American independence because it hurt Britain.

Then the relationship went sour pretty quickly after the French Revolution. Funny how a nation being taken over by a mass murdering regime does that.

If we are being completely realistic, please enlighten me as to what war was ever fought in which allies did so out of the kindness of their hearts? EVERY war in world history that was fought with allied help was done so out of mutually beneficial, if not totally selfish reasons for each of the parties involved.... France and GB had been enemies on and off for centuries.... Great Britian was a mutual enemy of France and the U.S. Colonies during the Revolutionary War... Suffice to say, France had lots of self-serving reasons to ally and help the Colonies defeat GB...

Your condescending, arrogant, and frankly disrespectful assertion above is no surprise coming from a European... I always find it interestingly funny how you all talk shit about us until you need us... And mark my words, sooner or later you will need us again... If the Ukraine-Russian war has proved anything, it's that the EU in its entirety still cannot defend itself without American help...

Not long before his death, the Pope granted Vance an audience. I hope the sight of Vance wasn't too much for the frail Pope. I wouldn't be surprised.

Congrats! Douche of the year award right here....!

I know this is of little interest to those who believe in Trump, but with today's open of 37,550, the DOW has lost $1.3 -1.7 trillion in value - across all investments the number is likely $5+ trillion.
This is of huge intetest....

Yes we like things simple......

When France surrendered during WWII in the same rail car that Germany signed the WWI armistice in, on that day france also agreed to use the Parisian police to help round up all enemies of Germany such as Jews, homosexuals, ethnic minorities, Masons and others; they also agreed to send 100,000 skilled workers to Germany to rebuild the bombed munitions factories and thus further the German war machine.

In the words of Stalin when negotiating with FDR & Churchill....

"The Polish did more to end this war than France, why should the French have any part in the negotiations?"

While we were in London and Ireland for almost 3 weeks, stayed at several different lodgings and found zero news coverage that was not extremely liberal biased. Absolutely non of this kind of stuff gets reported in main stream media over there.

A white guy gets harrassed and assaulted, cops stand around and do absolutely nothing, even when another "diverse" foreigner person gets in his face AGAIN as he stands right by the so called law enforcement officers. .

Your post reminded me of the James Bond 007 film,
Tomorrow Never Dies where a news mogul manipulates the news to change the world,

That fiction was much like William Randoulph Hearst did,

As fictionalized in,
