Ted Cruz self reporting that he is in possession of domestic terrorist symbols

I still have a bit more faith in the republic. Neither Eisenhower nor Truman were wealthy men and yet both served their country faithfully. they also represented each of our major parties. I blame our current seemingly casual acceptance of corruption on the Clintons. That voter acceptance of casual corruption has undermined our government for more than a generation. But it doesn’t mean every non-oligarch has to become corrupt.
Nor is great wealth any guarantee of competence. Jeff Bezos for President anyone?

The stress cards came out in the '90s. I think it was '93, I'd have to go back and check my notes.

I stand corrected, it was 1994-1996 that I was the Company Commander of the OSUT. The dates didn't seem right so I had to go back and look at the dates in the 1980's and 90's. I was in assigned to Attack Helicopter Troop (enlisted), Combat Heavy Engineer Company (enlisted), Combat Heavy Engineer Company (officer), Combat Heavy Engineer Battalion (officer), and an A-Team Commander, Special Forces Unit then to Company Commander OSUT Unit after the SF Battalion was (per se) "deactivated", ending my military career in 2002 retiring as a Civil Affairs Officer.

Again memory is hazy, but if I recall correctly, seems there were a lot of changes being made in how drill sergeants preformed their duties starting in the late 70's after several incidents, in the Army and the Marines, where basic trainees died during training. Followed by a few Congressional Complains.... mommy's little boy/girl was being to harshly yelled at for no reason and being made to do excessive amounts of pushups for "....no reason...." ".... punishment....". His/Her drill sergeant [was] being to hard.../singling [my baby, him, her] out.

Granted some, a few, of these DI's/DS's especially newly graduated DI's/DS's needed a good "jacking up" for abuse, trainees need to be pushed physically and mentally to do their respective military jobs, especially during wartime.

Back then it was called the "New Army".... What are [they] going to call it now the "Generation Z/X/Y/LBGTQ (what ever)/Rainbow Army".

I don't give a sh*t what color, religion, sex, etc these fu*ks are, but by G*D these POS had better be ready, able, and willing to sacrifice their life for the soldier beside them! Or take a bullet to the back of their POS head from a real soldier for being a cowardice pansie!

I'll end my rant because the more I hear how bad our military is bending over to be politically correct for these weak a$$, brain dead, PsOS below the bottom of the barrel recruit anyone, the more angry and disgusted I get with the civilian politician dirtbags our military has to answer to, the more p*ss*d *ff I get.

I think he would win without any issues. However, there is always the chance the other side will cheat again. Personally, I wish he wouldn't run, and I would like to see him support someone else like DeSantis. If he took office, it would be another sh*t show, and the other side would find ways to discredit him and we as a nations wouldn't go anywhere. I know this question was not directed at me. :)
IMO It would only be a "shit show" if the demcommies we're to retain the House and Senate. With Republicans holding a majority in both the House and Senate this Nation could possibly recover from all the destruction dementia Joe and the demcommies have caused, thus far.

@redleg for president?? 2024 here we come......

And this would be the first executive order. Everyone would get happy. Peace would break out and one of the most interesting threads on AH would become boring

But he had a Republican majority in both houses the LAST time he took office. Career kleptocrats like Paul Ryan and Lisa Murkowski just crapped all over the program.
I DO think it would be better if Trump would not run, but support DeSantis, but the Demedia complex is already portraying DeSatis as Hitler, as they have every republican since Nixon. It doesn't matter who you are, if you're not a democrap you're Hitler.

At some point in the global govt's venture into replacing carbon fuels with sun energy it is going to become clear that it is a dead end. The total costs and short product life will cause a collapse of the wind/solar industry. The costs and inefficiencies will lead to a collapse of the electric car fad. The results of the collapse will likely follow two routes: a resumption of carbon fuels and a significant increase in generation of nuclear energy. If the use of nuclear energy was developed soon enough, the collapse of the electric car and "all-things electric" could be avoided, but the politics of it are such that the nuclear option will not be allowed soon enough.

As for me, I have no intentions of purchasing an electric car.
Anyone remember the "E-85 / Flex Fuel" craze of the late 00's to early 10's? When Ethanol fuel was highly subsidized, it was significantly less expensive to the end consumers. As those subsidies ran out, the price crept closer and closer to matching Regular Unleaded. By the mid 10's, the decrease in efficiency with negligible price difference caused the flex-fuel vehicle owners to give up on the E85 and move back to regular. Now very few E85 stations exist and instead I've seen a trend where unleaded gasoline now "may contain up to 10% ethanol" at most stations.

Electric vehicles and "green" energy are a gimmick that will eventually be realized as unrealistic. The actual costs, both monetarily and in requirements to build/maintain/use this energy far outweigh any reasonable gains. It's already overpriced for most to have any interest in Electric vehicles, and as subsidies run out and the price skyrockets, no one will be left to buy the crap.

But you can't fix stupid, so the lies will be spread and idiots will tout about how great "green" energy is for a while longer.

The gun bans weren't brought in by the Labor Party, they were the product of the 'conservative' gov't led by John Howard - George Bush's "Man of Steel". The recent Liberal (conservative) Gov't got chucked out because it had long lost the plot and was being run by a marketing type with no idea of the real world. Personally I don't think any of the current crop of polies are worth two bob. Bugger all of them have ever worked in the real world. That said, the vote was quite unambiguous so I am happy to give the people's choice a chance to prove themselves. From what I can see so far, they're not doing as badly as I expected.
this is an ignorant thing to be saying as responsibility for firearm laws in Australia predominantly rests with the states, "Under the Constitution, day-to-day gun control legislation rests solely with each state and territory" every state and territory signed up to in John Howard's 1996 National Firearm Agreement
it was a bipartisan move although it was "flack jacket Johnnie's" National Firearm Agreement
the Labor party had as much to do with the stealback or any laws that have changed regarding the use, storage or ownership of firearms as the Liberal party and you could also say our weak gun clubs that were very lucky that it happened as it made them a small fortune because of the "genuine need for a firearm" reason on your Australian firearm licence
if you know the history you will remember MSM reporting about the party's thrown in the police stations because of the stealback at that time

as far as why the Labor/green party is in office now its is because there was a huge amount of people who did not vote for the Liberal or Labor party because they are just corporate poliscum, they wear different jumpers but are in the same club, the two major parties received an all-time low of 68.5% of the vote and l am sure as time goes by more sheeple will wake up and vote against them
with this current federal government we are in for a bumpy ride

I am in Phoenix and wanted to try some E-85 and never found a place that sold it. On a trip to the Midwest I checked every time I filled up and never found any.
Phoenix and CA, I believe, use the same 10% mix. It is mandatory. My first two mini vans had the 3.3 engine that could use either fuel. The last one had the 3.8 and was not supposed to use E-85. All three used the 10% with no issues.
For years I heard two hour commutes in CA were common so am not sure how an EV would handle that. I suppose that many EV cars per day could reduce fossil fuel emissions, but only twice have I heard anybody on TV give any hard statistics about the cost of battery charging and what fuel/cost that would be, Logistics would be the nightmare.
At one time Tesla said they would install more charging stations. I've no idea if that ever happened and if so was it enough to make a difference.

I don't know... does he support gun control?:A Stirring:

YES!

@Red Leg definitely supports gun control !

1. Thinks a sling is required. Nobody is gonna tell me where to point my gun.

2. He's against muzzle brakes. We should all have the right ear splitting noises!

3. And gulp, he thinks most clients should be required to use a .375 H&H for all things ....

Just theoretically, which forms do I need to fill for my country to become a state in your federation?

Appears the DemonRats have learned a little history, that is, they are attempting to enter a Trojan Horse into our laws. An excerpt that I heard noted that various agencies are charged with the authority to control domestic use of energy. That that translates to is the legislature & executive is giving control to agencies, primarily the EPA of Americans every day decisions. This would include the big ones, not being allowed to drive an internal combustion engine but also the subtle ones: government controlled thermostats on your home heating/air conditioning. The health dept would get control of such things as what foods and quantities are available for you to eat.

I know that the rep from my district is going to vote for this because she is a dimwitted Demonrat, but I am going to send an e-mail to her and warn her that after things go to Hell, I will be sending her another e-mail of just four words: I TOLD YOU SO.
