I'm interested in possibly adding one of these to my collection. I have never owned one and I'm interested in trying one out. No real specific calibers in mind. I love the big bores all the way down to the little guys, and honestly I'll find a way to justify buying it in whatever caliber I choose. I need a new coyote rifle, also have a trip to Africa coming up, you know how this works. I love aperture sights so that would be a huge plus if anyone happened to have one so equipped. Nice wood is always aweso me but also don't mind having a don't feel bad for actually using it field grade rifle with some character to it. Let me know what you all have. I can purchase straight up or I have a pretty wide variety of trade fodder all the way from 6.5 grendel AR to Nightforce scopes and a large supply of different bullets and brass for partial trades.
A full length Manlicher style stock would be real bonus points.

Good luck on the search, they are neat rifles. Have owned a bunch but currently only two, a SS and walnut in .257 Roberts and a 1-S in .35 Whelen, both real good shooters as most of them are.

Great rifles. I've got a 300 H&H and 2 7x57s. They all shoot well, a real pleasure to handle and use in the field. Good luck with the search

I went looking for one about 40 years ago and found CP Donnelly who replaced my desire for a #1 with a Win 1885 set trigger.

Gunbroker has a bunch of them listed. I have three if we count the Heym. All are nicely tricked out and not going anywhere. Good luck with the search.

I try to stay away from the gunbroker thing if i can. I like doing business on these sights when I can. Its usually a chance to meet some nice people and occasionally make a friend. On gunbroker you just never know what you're dealing with.

Gunbroker sellers can be a ripoff anyhow. Every sells everything for inflated prices it seems.

Remember it isn't Gunbroker that is selling the rifles, they are just acting as a middleman the same as any online auction.

Walk into any gun shop that is selling used firearms or go down to a gun show. You will find that the prices that you see on Gunbroker are right in line with what any of the others are asking.

I meant many of the sellers (ex. I kept seeing Winchester Model 70's Safaris (new production) for over 2k). I amended my statement. I find the best deals for guns online or in hole in the wall shops. The gun shows I've been to recently are still asking $80 bucks for 30-06...Gun prices there are closer to the new normal though.

It's a sellers market now for any unique, desirable firearms regardless of where you shop and the No 1 is right in the middle of that category. Same with cars, watches etc. Given the limited number of No 1's Ruger produces, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Internet site sellers can ask whatever they want to, doesnt mean they will get it. These days people are willing to pay sometimes outrageous prices for things but if they are willing to, that doesnt make the seller a crook.
Sign of the times.

Gunsinternational.com has numerous listings & sellers w/ strong history. Cabela’s has some postings …

Classic Sporting Arms(.com) is another who specialize in No 1's. Calling Little Crow Shooting Sports in Hutchinson, MN is another good option. Nice, honest people to work with and they go out of their way to find No 1s. Halifax Supply on gunbroker is a good trustworthy dealer. I've purchased a number of rifles from them, including a 7x57 No 1, and they're great. They show 5 No 1 280s in stock now at $1350 which seems very fair.

I went for the 450/400 3". Guaranteed giggles generator.

Too dang much fun...

I have one in .450/400, practically new--shot only once, since I have since moved towards vintage rifles predominantly. PM me if you're interested.

I'm pretty open on the caliber. I can always use a nice deer /coyote/plains game rifle or I could totally justify a fun to shoot, maybe I'll kill a buffalo with a single shot rifle big bore.

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
