Is it just me or does Hornady think the interlock is so good that it now competes with the partition and the woodleigh weldcore series? I just looked at prices on Midway and interlocks are selling for premium bullet prices. I know prices increased when people started fearmongering and hoarding (again
), but the price for hornady cup and core is absurd. The DGX and DGS ( decent bullets but not groundbreaking technology) are now being priced with a swift A-Frame
.who is paying those prices for inexpensive bullets.
Or maybe Hornady is trying to rebrand themselves as a premium bullet manufacturer and rather than go to all the trouble of designing a truly premium bullet, they would just sell the same stuff at inflated prices and people would think they were premiums because they were expensive.
Thoughts?

Some of the big bores do come in boxes of 50, but most are 100. There's value in that! Their plains game/deer bullets are excellent shooters and performers (GMX, SST, ELD-X, etc.) I find that for long range shooting, nothing beats the accuracy of Berger VLDX Hunting bullets (also sold in 100 packs). There have been some sketchy reviews on the DGS/Xs and yes, like McDs, coca-cola (complete crap) it's proof positive that selling anything is ALL about the advertising. Buyer beware! My son has used the absolute cheapest Rem 270 SP for first (and last!) shots on buffalo, and had the DGS 300s for backup (which wasn't necessary at any time.) He likes factory ammo while I prefer handloading and would use A-frames for softs and Barnes bonded solids (as recommended by many true experts on African hunting.)
Plus a flintlock only needs a "rock" and I have enough caps in ammo cans...
