Who is going where this year? Lets hear about all the fun trips planned so far

Nothing for me in 2017.... Got plenty of medical bills for my son that will take priority. However, I would like to get back over there, but it is looking like 2019.

I am sorry to hear of your son's medical bills.
However, "this too shall pass".
With today's medical advancements, he will get through everything and you will return to Africa.
I too have been away from Africa (approximately 10 years now ?), due to taking care of a family member.
So, I understand and I sympathize.

Thank you very much for you kind words @Velo Dog

Yes, looking forward to less expensive years..... Hopefully, we are in a "good place" in terms of care & treatments.

10 years..... That's too long! Sounds like you need to head back over! (y)

Sounds like Some great adventures
planned.
For me its Manitoba in spring for bear with a bow. Late summer in WY to bowhunt Antelope. Then off to AK with Dad for the annual trip to get our Coho fix. Late fall, SD for WT bowhunt.
....and if I win the lottery... hunting Elk in the gila thus fall.
Good luck all!

Thank you.... it's a neurological condition. It will be lifelong. We just try and be very progressive in treatments & therapies, to give him the best & brightest possible outcome. They just so happen to be very expensive too.... however, he is totally worth it. Awesome little dude. @PHOENIX PHIL @AAA Africa Serapa Safaris @Hartzview Hunting Safaris have all met him.

Your are welcome, our children are more than special.
I would throw myself under the wheels of a speeding train to push either one of my little wizeguys out of the way.
(Little, hell they're in their late 30's these days.)

And, thank you as well - yes it has definitely been awhile since I've "been to see the elephant", as they say.
Been taking care of my elderly Mom since my old Pops passed away.
She took care of me when I was young and so, I happily take care of her now that she is old (91 to be exact).

Guys like you and me will get back to Africa, there is no question about it.

I am grounded....started talkin casually about Africa the other day...." 2 TIMES IN AFRICA IN 2016....YOU ARE GROUNDED..!!! ".. " But I just...NO, FORGET IT...!!! " :Banghead: :Banghead: :Banghead: :Depressed: :Grumpy:

Pondoro, Sounds like you're gonna have to be a good boy for a while.

Going to Rio Indio Lodge in Nicaragua again for tarpon, snook, and some jungle fishing for rainbow bass and tiger bass. Love looking at the crocs in the river. Than will do some turkey hunting here on the farm and try to catch one of those big blue catfish we have here at Milford lake in Kansas. Then I will be in RSA with my wife to hunt cape buffalo with Serapa Safaris and do a tour of Capetown. Than back home for some more fishing and fall deer and turkey hunting here on the farm may even see if I can catch a bobcat in a trap.

I've always had a dream to take all of our 5 grown kids to Africa on Safari. Bobby Puckett made me a deal I couldn't refuse. We are going with Huntershill Safaris mid June. To make it even better, Bobby and Deb are going too!

All of our "kids" are grown, with the youngest being 33. They are all busy trying to raise families and just survive in today's economy. Point being, this maybe their only shot at going on a Safari. This will be Sandy's and my fifth safari and I'm more excited than any of the previous ones! Life is all about family and memories. Boy are we going to make some good ones! Not sure Gregg is gonna be ready for the Reagan Clan!

Oh yeah, all of the kids are going after Kudu and three other trophies from a choice of: Duiker, warthog, blesbok, Impala, Steenbuck, Mountain Reedbuck or common Springbok. Sandy may go after Kudu and I may go after Cape Grysbuck and bushpig.

I don't have anything amazing planned this year. I'm just going to try to get serious about bowhunting whitetails close to home.

I'll be taking my entire family, my wife and four kids aged 22 to 17, to the Eastern Cape in just 3 weeks! This is probably one of the last vacations as a family since my oldest graduates college and the second oldest graduates high school this year. The only trophy on the list will be a zebra and the rest will most likely be culls. But there's some extra in the budget, just in case. (y) I never imagined we would be able to afford a trip like this but by the grace of God we did it!

I would be interested in it if you pass. Please send me the info on the gun shop if you do not buy it. I have the needed ammo and brass.
