Some of ournAfrican friends think we are joking when we talk about how cold it is. We have an artic front that just moved in. Right now the the still air temp is -22 F (-30 C). The high temp is forecast to be -8 F. I'm in my Miles City store. 170 miles to the South in Gillette at home the wind chill is -43 F (-42 C). So how do you think business will be today? 4 inches of freash snow on the ground.... Might not be too busy. Then I get to drive home with the nasty roads. Enjoy the warmth in Africa or even the Southern US. Bruce

16 degree F last night here in Kansas City and the roads are cover with ice this morning!

Oh boy that's rough! Feel for all the folks suffering thru what you have going. I always worry about the elderly and homeless in times like these. Be careful out on the roads. Remember, there's crazy people out there.

This won't make you feel any better, but my morning low was 71 F. Tomorrow's high is due to be 46 F.

mmmm so thats why you didnt wear a coat in the mornings and said it was warm!! :E Big Grin:

We had an ice storm here this morning. I think I read there 40 accidents including a 31 car accident that shut down 495. Yeah, I'm pretty hanging out inside today.

Stay warm everyone!

-16 degrees below 0 F this morning and about 14 inches of snow at the house. I hope the winter moderates so our big game doesn't get hit too hard this winter.

-26C/-15F in Ottawa last night, lots of snow today ... the Ottawa river in my neck of the woods froze over last night, soon time t start ice fishing here!

One day this week the early morning low was like 45 degrees here. I had to run the windshields defogger!

-31c yesterday, it warmed up to -25c today just need a hoodie to get from one building to the next. It will warm up in April then wait for the bears to come out.

When is the last time an African stored Boerewors on the front porch to freeze?
When's the last time you frozeyour sausage on theporch.jpeg

This weather is why I can sit at Breakfast in bare feet on the Marble floor in Africa while the Africans are looking at me like I am nuts. Plus 4C is not cold.

-38 C here yesterday, the coldest I've worked in was -51C in Fort Nelson BC. Steel at that temperature shatters like glass, seen 4 1/2 inch shaft snap, have to go replace them.

My brother is in Cody. -12 F with the high of -2 F. We're an hour north of Tampa, Fl. 79 F right now. Humidity is kind of high. Might need to turn on the AC. Hmm. There's a reason I don't live in the Midwest anymore! :P Boat:

Right now we're at a balmy 14F with a -3 windchill. This afternoon it will be 3F with a -19 windchill.

On the bright side we're about to get pounded with snow.

Well it wasn't anything more than cool at that point Spike..... Hot compared to this. Putting the ice on the lakes. I'll get to go ice fishing on Jan 2 weather permitting. I thought some of our African friends would find it interesting.... Some of the trackers don't believe you when you tell them it gets this cold! Bruce

Us here too... My son thinks he is going goose hunting in the morning, wants me to go along.....I didn't get this old by being stupid. (Well mostly lucky) That barb wire fence doesn't stop much wind

I have to say I'm completely insane when it comes to waterfowl. I'd gladly go hunt ducks or geese in this crap. That's certainly the only reason I'd get out in this though. If the wind dies down to about 10mph all the geese will pile into the fields to feed. It should be a fantastic morning for waterfowling.
