SOUTH AFRICA: Elephant Hunt With Paw Print Safaris 2015

Looks great Charlie!!!

Thanks Heinrich! They do look wonderful.
I understand Mike from Capricon will come to collect the Giraffe skin, skull and bones next Tuesday. I trust you will help him to get where he needs to go to accomplish that task.

Yes sir, Mike phoned me to arrange the trophy collection for Tuesday, I might not be here, if not my people will help him to collect and also provide him with the transport paperwork, as arranged:)

I would leave the tusks as they are. However, its whatever you think would look the best that matters!

Also I would leave those wonderfull tusk as they are.....with bushes and trees stain.....!!!!!

It is incredible, some days ago We were talking about if you were ready, where you should aim, your gun, your training and now We are looking those tusk and seeing if you should clean them up or polish them over the field stain...........!!!!!

I guess is the life that just pass by......!!!!!

I want to see them in your house Charly.....!!!!!!

Thank you Rocket

Elephant, Hippo and Warthog tusks show a lot better with that contrast, much more natural, the less you do the better… Your tusks look great!

Perhaps I missed it… Did you get the weight and size for each tusk? Let us know.

Beautiful Elephant by the way and congratulations! It was really nice of you to share this journey with us... I'm happy for you.

That's what it looks like to me and that is why I asked questions but they had their answers ready... Good coaching?
I'm concerned about this too....But! 22 years ago I had my first, thus highly coveted rifle stolen in a home break in. A few months ago I got a letter from the Sheriffs office from the city next door and damn, they had my rifle! Recovered in a pawn shop takedown. Still in great shape and with the same old Redfield scope! So the authorities do keep and maintain stolen property lists.

Sorry to hijack the thread, AWESOME hunt.....drooling to go get my own tucker!

Jerome,
Thank you for the advice . I agree the tusks look good with the natural stains. Mike at Capricorn is going to weigh and measure and I will report once I have the information!

Perhaps I missed it… Did you get the weight and size for each tusk? Let us know.

Jerome the estimated weight in the field was 41 pounds and 31 pounds. The longer of the two tusks was 13.5 inches around at the lip while the shorter one measured 14 inches around!

Charley I know you can't see me but trust me I'm Green with Envy, Awesome Hunt Congrats!

Bobpuckett......enjoy life now! You said it. Save your coins like I did and go for it.
I had a great time hunting with Pieter.

Jerome,
Mike weighed the tusks and if I did the conversion math correctly they are
35 and 33 respectfully in terms of weight!

Thanks Bobpucket. I guess the root was still long in there!

I like the looks of those tusks Charley!
And I like the fact that the money went at least in part, into the local economic situation there (rural people finding jobs within the lawful Safari Trade).
Not to mention, hopefully staving off some of the snare setting poachers efforts, at least a little while until the elephant meat is all eaten or sold, by those fortunate enough to get some of it.

In this photo they were using the tractor to lift the front right leg so they could get the foot and leg bone removed for trophy prep. The job would have taken much much longer had the tractor not been available.

That is quite weird seeing a big orange tractor next to an elephant, very practical though.

Nice tractor. Now that’s what I call an efficient way of doing things!

Below is a picture of the ‘tractors’ and ‘machinery’ used to butcher my bull. Many more village 'machines' showed up for the process which turned out to be a real a$$holes to elbows free-for-all.
