Cool Marius something different.!

I can tell you, but then I'm gonna have to kill you......:D

Mike, it's some Russian made equipment that fits over the front of your scope. I do not have it on me at the moment but can get back to you with the name. Bought it in Germany last year.
At this stage I only have the 50mm and the 56mm objective lens adapters. If your scope is not of that size, guys can just use the .300Mag for the pig. So, you still aim through your own scope , see your own cross hairs, but because it fits over the front, it turns your optics into NV. It's high end stuff. You can ID animals at 350yds. Not a problem on the pigs. Only maybe 20yds from the blind to the pit... :)

Ok don't your pigs get use to the light?
I like the thermal what I have at the moment is very basic (thermal camera) but the stuffs awesome!
Once again I like this package of yours!

I saw similar to what you are refering to in Dallas was quite cool I actually purchased one but they had no stock, then had no stock in Harrisburg either so still waiting... :)

Sounds like everyone is about to go on a night hunt.

I always find how much you can see with a full moon or even a bit of moon amazing. I have see roe deer a plenty near me in the dark with the moon. Slightest bit of movement and there off

This hunt can be called the Triple B from KMG! :A Dance:

The night vision alone would be fun to play with.

I was reading up on night vision equipment a bit, Generation I, Gen II, etc.... Starts out pretty economical now. This all gets cheaper every year as new stuff gets better, like computers. It looks to me like it is now down where the average guy can get into some decent night vision equipment.

It all has a warning about exporting, yet most offered to hunters is imported Russian stuff in the USA.??? Any issue bringing these along with our rifles and scopes and back again? Will they put them on the 4457?

Will they put them on the 4457?

Don't know why they wouldn't. You aren't exporting them, just taking them out of country. No different than any other scope.

The issue is much of the newer stuff is export restricted- can't go to China, Zim, etc. I know you say it will be for personal use and you'll bring it back, but you get a nosy Customs agent and you don't have it with you, it can be a serious problem.

Just sayin'.

The lights work, absolutely, but I always strain to try and pick out the boar with just the binos. The pigs do get use to them, but keeping it natural has always worked, as I'm sure you will agree. Before my NV, the lights was really the only way, and have accounted for a few.
The NV I have, I believe is in the Gen 3 class and I use them also for Hyena and have used that model on a Leopard hunt, which was the deciding factor to get my own.
Now the Thermal, that is some serious equipment. Once you start looking at the upper models, their price climbs REALLY fast. I have been in the market for about two years now, but just have not found what I'm looking for. Their prices also have not come down yet.
Do only use the thermals for animals at night Jaco? Which model do you use?

Here's the same type of night vision I use. Not trying to hijack the thread, sorry.

Marius,

What a great idea...hell even sounds nice...'Dangerous Plains Game Package...'

Hahaha, that was the original title....for real!!! Thought it was too cheesy...:D

Forgive my ignorance, but how dangerous is the bushpig? is it meaner than a wet hornet, or does it just like to turn on you when wounded? Perhaps mean like the cape buff, and just gives no sh!ts about attacking?

The Bushpig will turn on you once wounded. They have taken their fair share of flesh off hunters and killed many dogs. If the pig is not found within lets say 50 or so yards, we will leave it for the morning. They WILL charge you.
I have never encountered a Cape Buffalo that will just attack. People seem to think that they are blood thirsty killers which is hardly the case. They choose to rather run away or come closer just to inspect before showing their dismay at being in their territory and trotting off. Once wounded, they turn into a different beast.
