Politics

I dont mind diversity at its core… I actually like “different” people, different thoughts, different cultures, etc… I think the world would be an incredibly boring place if it wasn’t wildly diverse in every possible way…

What I have no tolerance for is forced “diversity”, or some of the new, quite ridiculous definitions people have come up with for the word…

I’m a let the free market reign sorta guy.. let me hire who I want, associate with who I want, worship with who I want, buy from who I want, sell to who I want, etc etc… and leave me alone if I choose not to hire/associate/worship/whatever with you… the market/church/family/friends/etc will sort themselves out… if I’m a douchebag, I’ll pay the consequences for that… if not, I’ll reap the rewards.. whether we are talking business, friendships, family, etc…
That's right. I often compare strength to a rope. You aren't going to pull someone out of a hole with a lot of loose threads. Braid those threads all together and you can achieve something. To put it in human terms, a lot of separate factions that refuse to assimilate aren't going achieve much either. Those factions that demand special treatment due to a refusal to be part of the whole society are a detriment to that society. As Charlie Kirk was fond of saying, "DEI means didn't earn it."

I distrust in main stream media (all).
I distrust even more privately owned main stream media (all).

If ever I were to """trust""" a main stream media it would NEED to be, publicly funded, publicly controlled & publicly operated with the ONLY agenda repeatedly repeated is, what the public desires & the public can hire & fire whom they see fit for this main stream media outlet.
So you would trust PBS, NPR or BBC, etc. before a privately owned company? Get real.

And they have been that way for years

I remember some of the gun control bs from the 80s
Especially the one where a watermelon was shot with a Ak to show how powerful it was.
Then it came out the ak round didn’t do enough damage. So the reporter had it shot with a 9mm hp.
I cant remember if they added water to it as well.
But I definitely remember them shooting it with a 9mm hp to get the damage they wanted

There now a whole genre of videos showing women splitting watermelons between their thighs, so I think that idea is now rather moot.

But you have no control over anything private and you never will that's why it's private.
Whatever private does/says you can't do anything about because they don't answer to you.

You're meant to have control over anything "public" and always have it (even if you currently don't).
Whatever public does/says you can do things about because they have to answer to you.

The first thing I said on the first line of my post was "I don't trust any main stream media outlet" ...

If there were ever a main stream media outlet that wants to win my trust they must be a Public Media Outlet as a starter.

Totally agree. Everything immediately becomes a conspiracy theory these days. The simplest explanation is usually correct. But the act of a lone lunatic is less interesting and doesn’t allow us to reinforce our desire to blame certain groups, institutions, or individuals.

I can’t speak to where the rifle was when he was escaping, but didn’t the FBI report he was using discord (the app) after the event trying to get someone to pick up his rifle left in the woods?

The investigation is still early. I would suspect that a grand jury will eventually decide if people are co-conspirators if they knew any facts before or after the event. This could be as simple as online antifa friends encouraging him on, or it could be a local buddy he asked to recover his rifle. No evidence has been presented that anyone gave him material support afterwards and his trans partner is “cooperating with investigators”.

Oh dear....let's see how it goes....sounds pretty ok:E Rofl:

Thought this segment from the article was telling! To me people are sick of this biased news coverage. I’d rather it be straight down the middle. But since it’s been leaning to the left for so long people are sick of it and the viewing figures seem to show this!

“Fox News won 63% of total day cable news viewers and 65% of primetime consumers in August, while CNN and MSNBC lost half of their audience across both metrics compared with a year earlier”

I remember when Boris decided not to stand for leader the commentator got booted off air for her reaction.
And they wonder why we are sick of it

Edited got it wrong thought it was when he didn’t get elected.

Then they put her back on so yeah pretty sick of there bias.

All those righteously woke and outraged leftists here and in Europe sure did a lot of damage to the Tesla brand. I can't help but wonder how many of the precious little ring-nosed and man-bunned whiners could actually afford one?

My three kids that are teens all wanted to buy TSLA stock about 18 months ago in their ROTHs. I approved. It went up 200%, I forced them to sell half to re-balance their portfolios. Its way up again, but they keep complaining I shouldn't have made them sell off half their shares to invest in QQQs. (Lower risk is my angle, big wins is theirs)

Modi and Trump, I guess, do have a lot of similarities. Not very interested in politics myself to be honest, I follow this thread for entertainment and some deep insights from a few of the regular contributors. I wonder why India was singled out for the extra punishment for buying Russian oil? That nobel prize recommendation is mentioned frequently in a lot of places...The data below is from Grok. I am an Indian BTW, with very long stays in Europe and US, but back in India for good now.

I assume the Roth allows them to avoid immediate capital gains tax - otherwise you could be really unpopular.

Tesla stock has a huge runway remaining. The first to 1000 Robots wins. And Tesla will be first.
A robot in every house will be as ubiquitous as home computers have become.

We are currently in the same mindset as people in the 70s were when the thought of having a computer in every home was back then.

“Who could afford or want a computer in their home?”

Really don't get this anti vaccination for childhood diseases when they have proved to be life saving....as has been seen with the measles outbreaks ramping up and other diseases reappearing....going back to the dark ages....
