Your 3 favorite hunting cartridges of all time

Curiosity has got me what do you like about the 25 as not many people pick 25s. To me they are a great calibe that are sadly overlooked by many
Bob
They are very effective on appropriate sized game. Flat shooting without much recoil depending on the cartridge. Good sectional density across many bullets. Can cross over as a varmint round with lighter bullets, although a little noisy for the job. Have done a lot of hunting with the 25 and most are drt with one shot.

No complaints here.

Exactly my thoughts. My favorite projectiles for game ar 100gn TTSXs, 117grain SSTs and 115gn nosler combined technology silver tip.
I don't use it for varmiting but it sure makes a rabbit jigsaw with 117grain SSTs.

If I had to pick 3 it'd be as follows
.223/5.56
.308 Win
.375 H&H

The .257wby is RAPIDLY gaining on the .308 Win. I also fell in love with the 6XC a couple years ago, but the lack of factory ammo removes it from my list. Probably the same reason the .257wby hasn't replaced the .308.

this post is so old-i don't even recall if I responded to it earlier? lol in that case, it's changed over time:

kid in me says: young man: 40s: Now: Trend Continues (Son):
.22 WMR .22-250 .264 WSM .257 AI or 7x57 AI .7mm RSAUM
16 ga .257 Wby .338-06 A-sq .338 A-Sq .300 Win Mag
30-30/308/3006 .300 Win Mag .375 HH .416 Taylor .375 HH

A man can't have just 3. He should, but everything I've got is a favorite or it'd be gone! (Did get rid of 1 375 as the bore was worn out-from a retired PH. Same for a 350 Rem Mag and 458 Win Mag.) My pride and joy 264 WSM ('07) needs to be re-barreled, so it has sadly been taken off the interesting list for now. That Whelan quote about only accurate rifles being interesting holds very true here. I only like interesting. CCI shotshells in 22 WMR and LR are still my best friend for leisurely backyard safaris dealing with would-be winter varmints...

Future projects: 257 WSM, 358 Norma, 470 Capstick

Can't do three unless limited to center-fire:

Honestly I could die a happy man with four rifles:

Winchester M52 - .22 LR

Winchester M70 FW (Pre-64) - .257 Roberts

Winchester M70 Sporter (Pre-64) - .30/06

Custom .375 H&H based on modified Remington Model 30 Action or lightened P17 Enfield Action.

I’ll refresh my post... Nothing changes as they have, for many years, served me well and dropped game in their tracks!
264 Win Mag
338 Win Mag
458 Win Mag
One can hunt the earths big game with these three cartridges and never want! They reach from very long range Coues Deer to PG to Elk to Brown Bear or Lion to Elephant! And everything in between!

Throw in a 22LR and a 12ga shotgun and that’s all you ever need!
