Would you like a Cigar?

Very nice, I was not aware they were from Africa. So, how was your smoke?
These burnt with a very distinct dark chocolate yet had traces of a sharp wood flavour from start to finish. A very even burn one of few that I've never had to relight at all. Towards and right at the end a distinct cognac like flavour was experienced... Pleasantly surprised for a first experience of a Zim product!

The early AM smoke- was cold as hell with negative wind chill but I really enjoyed this for an early morning smoke. A bit too long of smoke for the weather since I was hurrying to get back inside :)

Smoking an Undercrown Dogma, sun growncigar. This cigar blend won cigar of the year in 2017. I have never been a fan of sun grown cigars, but this one is very good, not spicy at all. Actually it’s very smooth, and I’m trying to figure out the flavor but can’t quite say what it is. Lots of smoke and pleasant aroma and burning quite well.

Made it back from Costa Rica to this.

Flight from Atlanta to Nashville cancelled due to weather, so we rented a AWD and drove in a snowstorm for 5 hrs at 35 MPH to get home.

Why in the world would I leave this to come back to that?

Fishing was incredible. Total cigar count was 92 for six days fishing.

Right now at 18 degrees on my back porch, heater going, and a Camacho in hand, still wondering the sanity of coming home.

None the less, good to be back home with the Mrs. and enjoying the AH community.

WOW, very nice!!!!! Where you guys able to eat what you caught? No rooster fish???

We did eat the Tuna, Mahi-Mahi and Wa-Hoo. Sushi, cerviche, tuna steaks with an onion cream puree, mahi-mahi over risotto, pan fried mahi sandwiches, wa-hoo steaks with julien veggies and grilled pine apple.

All Marlin and sailfish were catch and release. One boat caught Rooster, so since I’ve done that, we focused on pointy nose fish. Paid off with a 200lb and 300lb bluemarlin, as well as too many sailfish to remember. 3 boats released 44 sailfish and 4 marlin. Biggest marlin was 400lbs. Biggest tuna 300lbs with the fishermen fighting 3 hr and 45 min. Not me thank goodness. A millennial.

Here is the 56 lb Wa-Hoo one of the young guys caught. Largest at the lodge in 17 years.

Also, some incredible Go-Pro picks of catches and releases, and fights.

Been awhile since I had an Axis Mundi. I'm going to order a box when Cigar Page has another special on them.

I've heard that those big 300lb hen Tuna, are like trying to reel in a runaway freight train.

When I lived in South Florida we would fish for black fin tunas, and we would catch 10-20 Lbs (we called them footballs), and boy let me tell you, them little f*ckers would give you a serious workout. They turn sideways, and it's like trying to lift dead weight that it's fighting at the same time. LOL. Great eating fish. :) The workout on those 300 pounders would be enough for me. One and done! LOL!!!!!

Doing battle with a 1000lb Blue Marlin would be epic. My arms would probably fall off...LOL.

I fought a blue marlin with the wrong size rod and reel (we were after tuna & dolphin). I was useless after we brought the fish to the side of the boat and released him. I sat in a corner out of the sun, smoked cigars and watched everyone catch dolphins. LOL. I was still sore weeks after that battle. LOL.

Smoking a Camacho Check-Six cigar :)

Andrew, I commented that your on 375 H&H for sale was the fair price.

Like I commented, my classic stainless has the original 24” barrel.

Did you buy yours with the barrel already cut down to 21” or did you do it (or a gunsmith)?

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
