Living in Alaska, you quickly have to come to terms with needing to lean on USPS flat rate boxes at times, to a lesser extent after Amazon came along, but until they start carrying excellent selection of reloading supplies…Flat Rate is where it’s at.
Now the care and proper feeding of multiple double rifles and couple other big bores can require some substantial weight…so it’s good to test how true that “flat rate” really is now and then. I had preordered some Woodleigh bullets a while back, and when they arrived, the dealer had actually also gotten in some 505 bullets so I asked about adding more…response was, well make it fit, and barely fit they did.
So this is the inner box from the large USPS flat rate box, which did have some additional cardboard to help spread the load I guess, but not a lot of unused space….and at 51lbs, I received it in 2 days for roughly $27 shipping to Alaska. One nice thing about priority to and from Alaska is it all goes by air, so they quite 3-5 days but at times it’s only 2. Fed-ex overnight from here is really 2 days, so it’s quite the benefit.
I was down to my last few hydros for my 450, and excited to try them in my new 500 as well. So should have enough to feed these beasts through the summer at least.
And if folks are trying to find Woodleigh, Reloading International just got their summer shipment last week. I know Raven who is a forum sponsor should see theirs sometime in the next month or two as well.
