What new Ruger would you like to see in a limited special run?

The .450 Bushmaster is Randy’s baby. He took the cartridge idea to Ruger.

I bought one of 50 Ruger number 1s in .450 BM 8 yrs ago in blue and walnut.

It sits unfired. Randy has tried to buy it back.

So does the 458 win fit in the ruger bolt action or too long?
The 458 Win Mag does fit. My only question was with Winchester making Safari Express rifles in that chambering, would the availability of an alternative you can have right now have a negative impact on commitment to a Ruger that you have to wait for.

I'd be in on a No. 1 V chambered in 6mm Norma BR 1:10 twist with a 3" wide forend to ride the bags in the Prairie Dog fields.

My local gun store has a Ruger in 458 at $1600 and it’s been sitting on the shelf for a year. It’s funny what our forum considers things that would fly off the shelves and obviously do not

Yeah was just wondering.....

I just left Randy’s store. They have 2 Ruger number 1 left in Blue and walnut. Some of the nicest walnut I’ve seen on a factory Ruger. So the increase in price is due to the walnut quality.

Total number produced is 75 for all of you Number 1 collectors.

I was shocked how good the stainless looked in person. Also only 75 produced.

While I much agree: We’re a small niche of gun lovers. We cannot support a mass produced rifle. Our low purchasing numbers are why even CZ and Sako quit producing big bores.

That said I’m not surprised at that model. No barrel band and not CRF. If we’re one thing it’s picky and we like things a certain way! Part of why Lipseys Africans bring 3x what a regular m77 in the same caliber does

I’m not a huge ruger guy. But at least they are still producing high quality blueing. The numbers 1 s I posted above are stunning in person.

Very nice. Are those 450BM? I want one in an AR but idk how much use I have for it in a no1

.450 BM in an African is ridiculous.
Some of the suggestions in this thread are ridiculous, other suggestions have already been produced several times over.
In this scenario, I don't think the mass market should be considered, if it is an order of 100 units or less, consider a passionate niche market... like big bore dangerous game units. Coupling the Ruger fans with an option no longer available except in high demand/high priced used units is the best way to go. The RSM's were offered in .458 WM, now North of $3-4K, and the old 77 tanger in .458 WM for North of $2-3K, I think an African in .458 WM would sell out 100 units in the blink of an eye... bedded, cross-bolted, barrel banded, express sights, 22-24" barrel... GONE.

My top choice would be a remake of the RSM in 416RIGBY but that won't happen so a nice 458 in the African (tang safety would be great) and I'd like to see a fast 35 like the 358 Norma in a No1

I’d love to see the RSMs come back. I’d be willing to buy both a .416 Rigby and a .404 if they’d make them. If we are dealing with today’s models, I’d buy Hawkeye Africans in 9.3x62 and .275 Rigby if they’d make more. Preferably with upgraded walnut.

Has anyone mentioned a Ruger in 416 Taylor?

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.
