Yeah I here yeah. Jobs are pretty scares in the seismic industry right now. Really hoping for a turn around soon but looks like we are going to have to hold on a while longer.
I work in forestry, specializing in geospatial mapping systems. So if everyone would build a house/ add on to their current one with southern pine lumber it would be very appreciated.
Anymore I am working at not working. I retired 7 years ago from a communication company in Colorado. At the time I was working on anything that I needed to work on and it changed day to day. I have worked on everything from the old grounded magneto phones or crank phones to micro wave and fiber optics. From climbing poles stringing open copper wire to digging trenches for cables and fibers. Personally I liked the old crank phones the best, it was a much simpler life back then.
Firefighter for 28 years. 38 years total in the fire service. I retire in 18 months to a small farm in Maryland. I hope to make my first trip to Africa in a few years. It has always been a dream of mine. I also mess about in boats on my days off.
I'm an agrologist specializing in animal and poultry nutrition, retired 5 years ago after 30 years in the livestock and poultry feed industry. Still a partner in our family farm, raising turkeys. My wife and I have made it our mission to explore the world as much as we can, one photographic safari to east Africa and one plains game hunt to South Africas Eastern Cape just made me want more. We have two recreational bush camps in Canada, our elk/deer/moose/bear hunting camp (and our friends trapline) in Eastern Saskatchewan and a Northern British Columbia wilderness fishing retreat. I hunt waterfowl and upland birds with versatile gun dogs at home in central Saskatchewan.
This is new to me: I am a Production Manager in Small town North Carolina 1 minute over the South Carolina boarder. We are an "industrial yarn converter". Our big business that is most relateable to many is that we make the material inside the large "round slings" that cranes use to pick up cargo, shipping containers, etc.

Once open groove mining and back filling is complete , I move in with the big yellow machines and shape the area to the desired profile / slope. Thereafter the hard work starts to rehabilitate the soil to such a degree that sustainable agriculture can take place. Sugarcane and Forestry takes preference. Before landclaims took our family farm- farmed beef cattle and had orchards with oranges and peaches together with my father.
