What do I take to Namibia? 30-06

30-06 and .308 Win with standard 180gr cup and core bullets have probably killed more plainsgame in Namibia than any other caliber and bullet weight combo. Very few locals here hunt with TSX (to my knowledge) and I do not have any personal experience with them in 30-06. However, all of the animals on your list will and regularly do go down with a 180gr lead based pill to the heart lung area. At 200+ meters cup and core bullets will hold together just fine and penetrate accordingly. If you are not convinced and want to go "premium" then Partitions will also perform excellently. Don't overthink it and enjoy your hunt!

In Namibia, I used a 180gr TSX out of a .30/06 @ ~2600+ on Mtn Zebra, gemsbok, steinbok, and two springbok. The zebra was about 225 yds and the rest no less than 100yds. All exited, but plenty of damage.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
