What ballistic software do you use and what do you primarily use it for?

I am familiar with 4DOF for field data, no idea what folks are using for reloading recipes or generating general comparative data.

I believe I’ll be getting a lot more range time soon and I have a couple rifle builds in mind but would like to generate more apple-to-apple data for decision making. A few years ago I had decided on a 280 AI for a lower recoil elk capable rifle for my son and other newer shooters. Now with all these new cartridges and the prevalence of suppressors I feel the need to reassess. Thought I would consult the brain trust.

I use QuickLoad some use Gordon's. Remember the results are "predictions" and must be treated as such. Either program will help you make better or at least more informed powder choices. Especially when your preferred powder is unavailable.

Google

Quickload here.

I use Strelok or at least I do until I get a new phone. Man I am really nervous about giving that one up.

Gordon’s and JBM Ballistics on PC.
Bullet Flight M on my phone for field use.

Shooter

Because I've used it for years, have lots of saved data that's easy to back up online and to a second device. And because I'm comfortable with it and see no need to change.

I've changed phones several times with no issues - and will again tonight or tomorrow.

I too am looking for a ballistics program, most of my use would be for developing wildcats, so powders and pressures mostly....any tips?
Redleg.....google ??

I don't know anyone that has Strelok that got it to move to their new phone. Because it is a Russian application and not available.

I have most of the Ballistic apps on my iPhone, Ballistic AE is the only one I use and recommend.

I like user interface and the form of Hornady ballistic calculator, and option for printout in PDF.
Also using Quickload.

I use Strelock Pro and have for many years. When I upgrade phones I am sure I will use it.
That being said, I always compared load data in Strelock Pro with the Hornady ballistics and found the ballistics data were very close to one another.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

Hello - I was looking at your post from several years ago regarding the Winchester 300 H&H. Any chance you still have the lefty M70 300 H&H for sale?
Thank you, Mike

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
