W.J. Jeffery & Co. Limited Production Classic Bolt Action .500 Jeffery &.404 Jeffery Rifles

What exchange rate are you using? This morning's rate is £1/$1.29 US. Thus the 500J model goes for only $67K and 400J can be had for just $62K. That's roughly six buffalo.

Somehow I don't think these bespoke investments would turn around very quickly. But maybe in my grandson's time.

I have a billion Zimbabwe dollars

I must admit that a .500 Jeffery, built by W. J. Jeffery, at a pricepoint similar to the .416 Rigby Big Game from Rigby, would be a big success. Especially as Rigby currently does not do any +.45CAL rifles in their Big Game line, to my knowledge.
Rigby currently offers the Big Game in: 375HH, 404 Jeffery, 416 Rigby, 450 Rigby and 458 Lott. If there is a significant interest in other calibers, the company may consider expanding the offerings. I’d be happy to pass that interest on to them if you let me know.

Perhaps you could get a .500 Rigby going?

A 500 anything would prove well received, and get my order. And while I’d prefer to see a 505 Gibbs, a 500 Jeffery would receive equal enthusiasm.

Since something like 33-years have passed since Paul Roberts brought forth the 450 Rigby, seems only fitting to bring in the next 250 years of Rigby with a new cartridge right???? 500 Rigby sounds like a superb start.

That is a very interesting idea! I will pass it along.

At the 250th celebrations, Mr. Paul Roberts and Mr. Bernhard Knöbel were observed discussing cartridge development. We didn’t hear all the details but it was fascinating to watch.

Perhaps move this discussion to another thread? This is originally the W.J. Jeffery thread.

That’s a fair point – thanks! There is no intent to be disrespectful :)

Same—in no way trying to detract from WJ Jeffery & Co.’s thread. Also, impressed with the participation from both maker’s in this forum.

I may unfairly think of Jeffery and Rigby brothers in arms, brothers for another mother, or similar. British gun trade seems more like artists finding inspiration from one another than our US Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge debates…but this is also just my gut, uneducated opinion having zero time in the British gun trade. Even the name sounds so much more sophisticated than its US counterpart.

I mean…there was a time, right, where both Rigby and Jeffery rifles were made under the same roof? Would be interesting to learn a little more of the history of that timeframe, but that would be more of a Paul Roberts thread. End of the day, zero disrespect meant to either maker or those that enjoy their firearms.

I’ll admit the one particular rifle I have drooled over more than any other the last half year is the WJ Jeffery 500 that Sportsman Legacy has for sale. The Jeffery 8x57 they have is also super cool. Hope to put hands on one of these new manufacture rifles at some point. Super gorgeous rifles…

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
