Could someone tell me what voltage adapters would be required for my trip to RSA and Zambia. I have an old book that says RSA uses a three rounded prong plug. Also that 220 volts are the standard voltage.
Any insight is appreciated.

Check with your travel store. Last year I took a kit with several adapters. Found 2 different types were needed on the trip. Stopped at the hardware store and got extra adaptors for the camp.

Check on what you are taking, you might not need to convert voltage just the adapt plug. My laptop and camera batteries are fine with 22ov 50hz; I just take a 3 prong round style to SA.

It’s bang on the money

Zambia may differ.

True if you don't need the other style. Pretty much all cameras and most laptops only need the adapter. Be careful of cell phones though.

Thank you everyone. Most stuff I just need the adapter to plug into the wall, as here is two vertical flat and one round prong.

If I remember right you needed the Big 3 round prong plugs most places but the other was another with one round large and 1 vertical flat and 1 horizontal flat. Do not buy at airport you get screwed.

One adaptor plug as above will sort everything
Yes SA uses 220 volt 3 prong as std wall socket
Also have a lot of 2 prong small round sockets
Try buy adaptor that does all in one

Zambia uses 3x prong square type plugs.

Will this work?
As an adapter for South Africa yes, but the larger version of the Type M plug may not fit in all outlets.

A big difference between a converter and an adapter, all depends on one's specific needs. Do you need to convert the electricity down from 220 to 110? Or do you just need an adapter to make your plug fit into the outlet?

See my above post with the link to the article I posted.

IMO, unless you are a big business owner and have to contact your office every day, take the fewest toys you can possibly get by with. You are going hunting, not to a social media extravaganza.

I hear you! I just need to charge a camera, I am taking my 20 year old daughter hence all the extras!!!

Then that changes everything!!! Young women have electric gadgets, I can't even describe in my old age!

Ah sorry, I misread "Zambia" as "Namibia". The link I posted says converter for RSA and Namibia. All the reviews of that product only speak of using it in RSA. I need to know if it will work in Namibia. I don't think my appliances will accept 220, just 120 so it will need to be a transformer as well.

Yes that will do.

But ask also what they are using at the hunting lodge or places where you will be staying, the Namibian standard is 220/230 Volts AC 50 Hz, three-pin 15 amp outlets however you will find also sometimes the Standard European 220 Volts, two-pin outlets at certain places.

For your newer devices such as phones, cameras, video cameras, computers, etc. you might not need a power converter from 110V to 220V to use your 110V portable devices in 220V foreign countries outlets. This is especially true for more recent devices. Just check behind the AC Adapter box or the device itself and check the power INPUT, if it reads INPUT : 100-240V : 50-60Hz your device can safely be used anywhere where the current ranges from 110V to 240V as the AC adapter can handle dual voltage, acting just as a power converter.
